In this, the pilot episode of The BrokenFoundation Podcast, we'll be speaking to the current members of the BrokenFoundation Collective (BFC). We'll be getting into why BFC started, why each of us wants to even get into it and how the alternative scene is going as we see it. Then have a look at things upcoming with AKLIAS, who've just today announced their debut EP. We learn that Nathan has obviously never listened to a podcast before as he breaks Kayfabe~!, we talk the upcoming AKLIAS EP, "All My Sins" and the accompanying weekend run they'll be doing.
We chat the good-to-knows, lessons that can be learnt from others and what to expect when you hit the recording studio for the first time as well as some of our own experiences from both the Recording/Mix Engineer and performer side.
Finally we head into the Passion Pit. I think that enthusiasm is infectious and I'm always stoked to hear what makes people tick that isn't the prototypical "music is muh life" answer. Guests will know that I'll ask the question what is your number one passion, that isn't music. Then we just go and dig into the stuff our guest love.
BrokenFoundation Collective are a group of musicians/creatives within the Alternative music scene in scotland that want to create a better network between artists, venue, promoters and other creatives within the industry. We book and promote shows in and across Scotland, bringing new bands and groups up to Scotland and helping them find their feet by pairing bands up with other scottish or more local bands to do short runs across Scotland. We also want to work with bands to help release their music in physical editions and just in general help alternative bands get things done, alongside coming up with creative merch for bands that are outside the box and some fun stuff.
If you want to get in touch with us with regards to working alongside us, playing some shows with us or anything else that's not even mentioned here - please get in touch with us on social media (@BrokenFoundationCollective) or email at [email protected]
