For most of my Christian life, I accepted without question what I had always been taught—that the lost will suffer conscious torment forever. But after carefully re-examining the Scriptures, I found myself confronted with a troubling question:

Does the Bible really teach eternal conscious torment—or does it teach the final destruction of the wicked?
