Welcome back to another episode of the Bucklesberry Lemonade podcast, where we dive into the mysteries and tragedies that plague our nation. Today, we're tackling a disturbing trend: missing children in America. In the month of February 20234, a staggering 264 kids were reported missing across the USA. But what's truly alarming is that 80 of those cases were from Virginia alone.
Let that sink in. 80 children gone in just one month. And it doesn't stop there. On the 20th of February, 9 more vanished without a trace. On the 16th, it was 11. And on the 1st, 5 innocent souls disappeared in to thin air.
But what's causing this epidemic of disappearances? Is it human trafficking? The statistics certainly point in that direction. In Virginia alone, there were a total of 170 reported cases in 2023. And nationwide, human trafficking remains a grim reality, with thousands of victims falling prey to this heinous crime every year.
As we shine a light on this dark topic, we can't forget the individuals behind the numbers. Christina Lynn Lewis, missing from Newbern, North Carolina since 2000. Donna Michele Barnhill, missing from Lexington, North Carolina since 1981. Their stories, like so many others, deserve to be heard. Join us as we delve deeper into these cases and uncover the truth behind the missing children of America. Stay tuned for more on the Bucklesberry Lemonade podcast.
