It's really important to extablish your credibility and show potential, paying, clients, why you are qualified to speak on your subject.  This is something I am passionate about. establish, you can probably tell.

I have So many gadgets, my father says of me "All the gear and no idea" - he's right. Do you love gadgets? What's your favourite and why?

I love numbers and in this musing I'm talking about the numbers we track on a weekly basis in our Speaker Bureau. What about you? What numbers help you to manage your business?

Have you had to suddenly change your speech because plans have changed? You can no longer use slides, or the previous speakers have over-run so badly your slot has been cut in half? It happens all the time .... so you need to learn to adjust "on the fly" - a bit American, sorry about that.

How are your relationships with your clients? Prospects? Relationships trump everything even when you get things wrong.

I'm really bad at saying no to opportunities, probably a bit FOMO - Learning to say no is really hard and if you say yes to everything you end up letting people down. Have you learnt to say no graciously?

Should there be a difference to how you speak when you are on stage based on your gender? Hillary Clinton thought so during her Presidential campaign. I'm not sure I think it's more about being authentic rather than being about gender.

Personally I think that there are three types of speaker. Number one and Number 3 are the ones to be, you don't want to be a number two for very long! Let's see if you agree?
