Inflation is erupting in the USA for the first real time since the early 1980s. Groceries, cars, houses all going up. Recent wage gains are being eroded by this inflation. 

How is inflation impacting you?

California has lots of good stuff and lots of bad stuff. Is it really headed for 3rd World status? Why is the middle class moving out? Are the beaches and mountains worth the hassle? 

Bill Gates says that cow flatulence is creating too much C02 and as such we should grow our meat in test tubes instead of on the hoof.

However REAL steak is still readily available and I show in this episode you how to impress your friends with your meat grilling skills. It's not that hard and people will LOVE your steaks. (Put your dad to shame.)

Biden want's you the taxpayer to spend another $3 trillion on "infrastructure", AKA a Democratic Party wish list of programs including federal funding of universal pre-school? 

Where will this money come from? Some will be debt. In the  end it will all morph into debt. But taxes are going to go up too including (at this point - so who knows) couples making $200,000/year. ($400k was supposed to be the limit.) Dems also want to raise the corporate tax from 21% to 28% which is basically job suicide. The USA long had the highest corporate rates in the world and this chased away business. Now we are more competitive, but raising corporate rates (which are ultimately paid for by the consumer in one way or another) would set us way back.

This is absolute folly but some in Congress want to move now and to fund big government dreams before Congress potentially changes hands. 

There is no government unless the private sector pays for the government. Civil servants are supposed to be just that - servants. They work at the pleasure of the taxpayer fundamentally. However there is a large group of people these days who think getting rich in politics is perfectly legitimate. This is an example of a creeping banana republic kind of thinking in this country.

2008 was an important point in the history of this country. Probably as important as 2001. It was in the Great Recessions that the American people saw the big shots abandon capitalism and anything like fair play in the marketplace to save their skins, while everyday people lost their homes. - The result? People blamed "capitalism" for this unfair situation and started to demand that government bail them out too. 

The thing is, bailouts are the exact opposite of capitalism, and it is the American taxpayers, the engine of American prosperity, who have paid for these bailouts anyway. (In more ways than one.)

The Biden Pentagon is dangerously engaging in partisan games. This must stop immediately. 

The Republican Party should hold up and celebrate REPUBLIC-an values, The Constitution, federalism, rule of law, limited government, as a way forward. A "big tent" that is big enough to counter a Democratic Party that all too often seems driven by a mob mentality. 

There's whole lot o' stupidity going on these days. From Cardi B, to arguing over pronouns in Congress, we are a distracted, childish nation. Who will step up? Will this era ever end? How does it end? 

Bill is correct. We are a silly people now. We spend time arguing about pronouns and microaggressions while China, now a serious country, laughs.

We discuss China, and American silliness, and the American crony capitalist system - which helps to enable this “silly” non-serious disposition.

Can it be turned around? Can we get serious. Can we start acting like adults? - I don't know.
