The NBA has sold itself out. So what if the people of Hong Kong are fighting for their lives against Chinese Communist Party? The NBA wants to do business in China, and capitulating to the Chinese authoritarian regime is what the league would prefer to do. The money is too big.
The NBA might not care about Hong Kong, or the people held in Chinese concentration camps, or the alleged organ harvesting of prisoners, or the oppression of religious minorities, or well, anything China does. But many of the American people see in the Hong Kongers a people fighting for what is right.
