I believe the enemy works hard to keep us from understanding what it means to have an effective prayer life—because once we grasp it, everything about the way we live and interact with others begins to change.

Prayer is more than simply opening your mouth and speaking—though that's a great place to start.

As Charles Spurgeon once said, “True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that—it is a spiritual transaction with the Creator of Heaven and Earth.”

Jonathan Edwards put it this way: “Prayer is as natural an expression of faith as breathing is of life.”

May this message encourage and challenge you to cry out to God for mercy, grace, and forgiveness.

I had the opportunity to sit down with my friend, Linda Robertson, to talk about how she views her work as a realtor—not just as a job, but as a calling to impact our city for Christ and to edify those she comes in contact with.
