On this episode of the Calvary Cast, Jess is back! He and Graham sit down and discuss the book of the month. Then Jess shares some thoughts about the house of the mourning, the death of his mom, and God's grace seen in her life. Stick around to the end of the episode to hear the song/poem Jan wrote. Words down below.
He called my name
There was a time I can still recall,
When to me, Jesus Christ meant nothing at all.
I was without hope and dead in my sin;
For there is no life, no hope without him.
Oh I seemed to be without a care,
But had inner fears I wouldn’t share;
For in my soul all was not well.
I knew if I died I’d go to hell.
I had heard of him, who had died for sin,
But the facts never touched my heart within.
Then like Lazarus, Jesus called my name!
Out of death and sin’s decay I came.
His the only voice could raise me,
His the power, praise and glory.
Bless God, a new life begun with him!
Dread and hopeless no longer within
Now loved ones and others are my concern;
That of life thru Jesus they too would learn
Their position in sin is just the same,
They need Jesus to call their name.
O Savior call that name we pray
Give life to that lump of clay
Remove the stench of sin’s decay
Lord Jesus, call that name we pray
