Hey Cannon Cruisers fans! Randy here! And we're back for another season of Cannon Cruisers! As usual, we're kicking things off with a Non-Cannon adventure as JD and I check out Walter Hill's The Warriors (1979). After being falsely blamed for the murder of a powerful gang leader, the Warriors have to make their way across New York City and back to Coney Island while seemingly everyone in the city is hunting them.
JD and I talk about how Walter Hill turns that simple journey into something much more distinctive, from the stylized gangs to the way he repeatedly shoots the Warriors moving toward the camera. We also get into the film's enormous influence on later pop culture and why its version of late-1970s New York remains such a major part of its identity. Since we watched the original theatrical cut, the conversation also touches on Hill's later director's cut and how differently the two versions present the same movie.

Cannon Cruisers Season 7 Non-Cannon Wrap-Up - Non-Cannon Retrospective
Hey Cannon Cruisers fans! Randy here! Welcome back to the Non-Cannon-ical Adventures of JD and Randy. Part two of our Season 7 wrap-up tackles the nearly 30 Non-Cannon films we somehow watched along the way. We start by revisiting our John Carpenter run before getting into the season proper, including The Running Man and the very large summer detour that followed.
JD and I look back at movies that surprised us, ones that absolutely did not, and a few that became favourites. The Manhattan Project turned out far better than expected, while Heat and Tombstone gave us two of the strongest films we'd covered. New York Ninja somehow became another highlight before we closed the season where we began, with John Carpenter and The Thing. Randy is going back to sleep now.
Content Warning: This episode contains strong language and discussion of violence, self-harm and mature sexual themes.
Cannon Cruisers Season 7 Cannon Wrap-Up - Cannon Films Retrospective
Hey Cannon Cruisers fans! Randy here! Happy New Year! We somehow covered almost 40 movies in Season 7, so JD and I split the wrap-up in two. This first half is all Cannon, kicking off with American Ninja 4: The Annihilation before moving into the studio's final years. Chuck Norris turns up in The Hitman before eventually returning for Hellbound.
We work through the Cannon side film by film, including American Samurai and our 100th episode pick, Street Knight. By the time we reach Chain of Command, we've worked our way to 1996 and roughly 100 Cannon movies covered overall. We didn't want to rush the recap. Spoilers: we ended up rushing anyway.
Content Warning: This episode contains strong language and discussion of violence and sexual content.
