Welcome back to the Cantaloupe Cats Movie Podcast! Today we dive into one of our favprite movies of the year, with friend of the pod, Levi Wilson. Three fake commercials strewn throughout, created by John Tom and Levi (with an assist from Lisa Hammer).
This is a tangent heavy episode with spoilers numerous movies and shows.
About Levi Wilson:
Levi is a writer, director, sometimes actor and jack-of-all indie filmmaker. He has been working in the film industry for over 20 years on studio productions and independent projects. His latest short film, Luke & Emma and a Gas Station on Franklin Ave, was acquired by AMC Network for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. 00:00 Who is Kevin Corrigan?
04:29 The Exorcist
19:35 Exorcist 3: Legion
53:02 Exorcist 2: The Heretic
In a Very Special Episode of The Cantaloupe Cats, we are joined by veteran character actor and all around cool cat Kevin Corrigan! When we reached out to ask him if he'd like to come on the pod he said he wanted to talk about The Exorcist films. It was the perfect excuse to sit down and dig into this classic but troubled film franchise (I had never seen 2 or 3). I didn't know Kevin Corrigan was in Exorcist 3, and he regails us with tales from the set, ancedotes about Martin Scorcese, and WIlliam Blatty, and all sorts of other trivia and experiences he has had as an actor. Spoilers for: The Exorcist 1-3, Poltergeist, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Child's Play & Mean Streets.
Theme Song: Language, Violence, Adult Situations by Fashion Bird Danger Danger.
Kevin Corrigan is an American character actor. He has appeared mostly in independent films and television since the 1990s, including as Uncle Eddie on the sitcom Grounded for Life (2001–2005). His film appearances include supporting roles in Goodfellas (1990), Rhythm Thief (1994), Walking and Talking (1996), Henry Fool (1997), The Departed (2006), Superbad (2007), Pineapple Express (2008), Seven Psychopaths (2012), The King of Staten Island (2020), and co-starring roles in Big Fan (2009) and Results (2015). He has been twice nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male.
The Cantaloupe Cats turn the key and unleash nihilistic doom on an unsuspecting public, with their HEAVY SPOILER deep dive into The Monkey, a 2025 Horror Comedy by Oz Perkins. As per usual, two fake commercials were created especially for this episode, to inject a little of our own horror comedy into the proceedings. Both John and Tom are super well versed in Stephen King lore so the conversation covers a lot of ground. SPOILERS for: The Final Destination Series, Six Feet Under, Longlegs, The Monkey, various Stephen King books and movies etc.
I was eating popcorn during the episode so every once in a while my voice sounds different.
