What happens when the person everyone relies on is the one who needs help?
You’re capable. You’re dependable. You get things done.
People know they can count on you. You find a way, figure it out, and keep going, even when you’re exhausted.
But when did being capable become a reason for everyone to assume you’re fine?
In this episode of The Capable but Tired, I explore what happens when we become so good at coping that people stop noticing how much we’re carrying. And what changes when, instead of being told to try harder, we allow people to show up for us.
Sometimes support looks like someone bringing food. Sometimes it’s someone listening without trying to fix you. Sometimes it’s simply having permission to rest without explaining why you deserve it.
You can be capable and still need people.
This is a conversation about support, belonging, exhaustion, and questioning the belief that you must carry everything alone.
💬 Let's talk:
Are you the person everyone relies on? And when you need help, do you find it easy to ask for it?
Tell me in the comments. Let's make room for an honest conversation.

What happens when a coachee challenges every question?
In this episode of The Capable but Tired Podcast, a coaching session takes a turn as a highly analytical client pushes back on the assumptions hidden inside almost every question.
Together, we explore trust, self-awareness, loneliness, communication, emotional intelligence, relationships, personal growth, and what it means to feel misunderstood in a world that is quick to interpret and slow to understand.
As the conversation unfolds, we examine self-reliance, connection, judgment, identity, and whether being known requires vulnerability or simply better understanding.
This episode is for anyone who has ever felt misunderstood, questioned the value of coaching, struggled to trust others, or wondered why meaningful connection can feel so difficult despite being surrounded by people.
If you’re interested in coaching, psychology, personal development, mindset, leadership, or understanding how your beliefs shape your relationships, this conversation will challenge the way you think.
Come for the coaching.
Stay for the questions that refuse easy answers.
Episode 1: The Exhaustion of Being Capable
You’re the one who remembers.
The one who organises.
The one who knows what needs doing next.
The one people call when something goes wrong.
And somewhere along the way, being capable became exhausting.
In the very first episode of The Capable but Tired Podcast, we explore the hidden weight of being the dependable one. The invisible labour. The remembering, tracking, noticing, worrying, coordinating and carrying that often goes unseen by everyone else.
If you’ve ever found yourself saying:
“I’m fine.”
“I’ve got it.”
“Don’t worry.”
...while quietly running on empty, this conversation is for you.
We’ll talk about the cost of capability, why so many strong people feel isolated, and why recognising the weight you’re carrying might be the first step towards carrying it differently.
Because being tired doesn’t mean you’re failing.
Sometimes it simply means you’ve been carrying something heavy for a very long time.
In This Episode
* Why capable people often become invisible caregivers
* The hidden labour of remembering, organising and anticipating
* Why asking for help can feel so difficult
* The truth behind the phrase “I’m fine”
* What happens when responsibility arrives unexpectedly
* Why feeling exhausted doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong
