We begin the season of Advent, a season of waiting for Jesus’ birth!

Thanks for taking this time to be recentered and reminded of God’s love for all people.

Christ the King Sunday! Pastor Megan, Pastor Erik and Pastor Kevin discuss Reading: Amos 1:1-2; 5:14-15, 21-24. Some of these verses have become separated from the texts themselves. Remember that they come in the context of God’s warning that external piety is not enough. We do not put on a show of faithfulness to our King, but worship God seven days a week in all we do and say. What does it mean to worship Christ as our King – and how is it different from the world’s expectations of power and glory?

Pastor Megan and Pastor Kevin discuss Psalm 150. We’ve been talking about the many commitments we make as people of faith, and being here in worship (onsite or online!) is one of them. We live out our other vision statements as we worship with joy – we are in community, we care for each other, we give, we learn. From the vision statement: weekly worship centers us in relationship with each other and with God. It’s good that you are a part of it! All the gifts you share keep our worship life vibrant and Christ-centered for years to come

Our whole lives bear witness to our faith, including the way we use money. Together, in this time of prayer and devotion, we’ll reflect on how God calls us to use all gifts well.

Pastor Megan and Pastor Kevin discuss Psalm 112:1-9. Generosity is the antidote to fear. We trust in God’s abundance and know that we are free to share what God has first given us so that all may know God’s love. From the vision statement: we share our space, time, ability, energy, and finances here at Easter and throughout our lives. This is truly lived faith. When we commit to truly sharing what God has given us, it doesn’t stop anywhere. Nothing happens at Easter without your loving generosity.

We name the power that death has in our lives and don’t hide from it. We know we need care, love, mercy, and hope. We name those saints who have gone before us to remember that God’s love and care for us is true in this life and the next. From the vision statement: we will pray, walk together, build relationships, and offer support from a place of listening. This work matters in a hurting world! Your giving makes it possible.
