In February of 2008, 9 year old Shannon Matthews did not return home from school. Shannon's disappearance came only 8 months after the internationally known, disappearance of Madeline McCann. With The UK still reeling from that case, suddenly, another little girl was gone, so they did not waste any time. Within 24 hours, there were more than 200 officers, combing the streets for Shannon, but there were no leads, no evidence...she just, vanished. But friends close to Shannon's mother Karen, were beginning to notice some odd things about the way Karen was handling her daughters vanishing. In front of cameras, she was as expected, grieving, she had large red circles around her eyes, her hair was greasy, she looked like she had been so torn up, that she wasn't even taking care of herself anymore, let alone the 3 (out of 7) children, that she still had living with her......but when the cameras weren't around, she was often caught drinking and laughing... did Karen Matthews have more knowledge of Shannon's vanishing, than she was letting on?
