On this episode of The Cast of Ka, we discuss the chapter Reshuffle! We talk Roland’s reluctant fatherhood role, spinning wheels both literal and figurative, and, of course, romance under the stars.

We close out the show with our review of 1922 and give our take on some pretty intriguing news about potentially upcoming Stephen King adaptations.

We dig into how this book tackles the mysticism of Mid-world, marvel at the fastest romance in the west, and discover how these chapters gave Rachel a raging case of Stockholm Syndrome.

We close out the show by catching up with all the Dark Tower and Stephen King news we’ve missed. Put it on your calendars, folk—2017 is the year that King is king!

On this episode of The Cast of Ka, we continue to get to know The Lady of Shadows in chapter two, Ringing the Changes. We discuss King’s gift for gore, the “birth” of Detta, our ambivalent feelings about Roland’s attitudes about body autonomy, and the JFK conspiracy plot thickens!

We close out the show with some awesome listener mail, movie news, and, of course, our reviews of The Dark Tower movie.

On this episode of The Cast of Ka, we tackle The Lady of Shadows – Chapter 1: Detta and Odetta. We cringe our way through the section and discuss Freudian theory, getting woke, Stephen King’s well intentioned but ongoing struggle to write POC characters, limousine liberals, and bitcoin mining. We also catch up on movie news one last time before The Dark Tower finally hits theaters, cast the role of Detta/Odetta, and Rachel drops some serious crackpot theories!

On this episode of The Cast of Ka — in which I drive poor Deejay absolutely bonkers by insisting we go into… every… single… emotional… nuance… of the chapter — we recap and review Shuffle from The Drawing of Three. We discuss the tastiness of Lester the Lobster, toxic familial bonds, fever dreams, the inner lives and struggles of gunslingers, and the transcendent power of truly good tunes.

Since it was a slow news week movie-wise (we recorded this before the second trailer dropped, sorry folks!) we close out the show with the words of some of our favorite peeps, our way-too-freakin’-smart listeners!

Look at us, we made it to the big 1-0! Double digits, baby!

On this episode of The Cast of Ka, we recap and review chapter five of The Drawing of Three, Showdown & Shootout. We discuss buck nekkid firefights, non consensual lobster dinners, catching Tower-fever, and cuddling Mid-World-style.

We close out the show with a return of the Stephen King Universe Connections, listener feedback on the movie marketing and once again we lend our Dark Tower nerdery to Hollywood with our casting of Henry Dean — and a surprise recasting of a previous character.

On this episode of The Cast of Ka, we recap and review chapter 4 of The Drawing of Three, The Tower. We discuss Roland and Eddie’s growing bond, NSFW injection sites, houses of cards and the mobsters who love them, and of course, SUGARGASMS.

We close out the show with some more stellar listener feedback and give Hollywood our unsolicited opinions on who we’d like to see play the made men of The Drawing of Three.

Uncooperative technology be damned! The Cast of Ka is back and we are super excited to dig into chapter three of The Drawing of Three, Contact and Landing.

On this episode, we cover Roland and Eddie’s airport bathroom meet cute, going “cool turkey,” and how smuggling coke is a lot easier if you have a portal to an alternate reality handy.

We close out the show with the recent movie news including our fresh (i.e., disorganized and highly emotional) thoughts about the Dark Tower trailer that dropped earlier this week.

Welcome back! On this episode of The Cast of Ka we return from our little unplanned hiatus (sorry about that folks, and thanks for hanging with us!) to kick off the second book in the Dark Tower series, The Drawing of Three!

We argue like a couple of lobstrocities over Roland’s fate in these early chapters, talk magic doors, old-timey weapons, and the tastiness of popkins. We also read some great listener mail—complete with a new theory regarding Roland’s night with Walter—and Deejay is forced to confess to his time spent in a Florida slammer.

Welcome back! On this episode of The Cast of Ka, we wrap up The Gunslinger with a discussion of the final chapter, The Gunslinger and The Man and Black (a.k.a. The Last Temptation of Roland Deschain). Brace yourself folks, as things are about to get a whole lot more metaphysical.

We also weigh in on The Dark Tower movie delay, learn some new dirty talk for goths, and Deejay completely blows Rachel’s mind with his bonkers theories about where this chapter actually takes place!
