In this episode we discuss some developments in the workplace and how you can adapt to make the most of your business or your role. Lately many companies have been shifting towards a 4-day work week. But is that really the smartest thing to do?
If you want to reduce the time you work while maintaining or increasing your output, there are three helpful tools:
Essentialism by Greg McKeown - This book shows you how you can focus on less and actually make more happen. Make a decision that makes 1000 via core values and so much more. To discover your own core values, you can get my book on love - use the exercise in chapter 4 to create your core values.
Tracking your time (e.g. with Toggl) - Tracking your time allows you to see really how much time you spend on what & also be focused when you do work. Even if you forget to track in the moment, reflect at the end of your work day and add in the numbers.
Transparency using Dashboards & OKRs - Teams need trust. Trust is developed through transparency and understanding. The book called: The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni talks about just that. OKRs are a goal setting methodology developed by Google that can come in quite handy.Remember that Parkinson's Law states that work will always fill the time that you give it. Give it less time and it shall adapt.
