The Vicar’s future is now in the hands of the Bishop with even the National Newspapers carrying stories of his misbehaviour. John Gough’s brother Richard is arriving from Canada. Clive and Beth have found a site for their health food store and also the possibility of some financial backing. The Castlewick Light kitchen has been refurbished following the recent fire and has just been inspected.
Clive and Beth have found a site for their health food centre and have persuaded Tom Palmer to join them to sell freshly caught fish and John Gough is not happy because of its impact on his grocery shop. The Vicar seems to have burnt his boat with his improper advances to Mary Taggart and the Major and Dorothy Peggs are off to complain to the Bishop. Meanwhile the Castlewick is recovering from a fire in the kitchen.
The Vicar’s affair with his married housekeeper is becoming a major talking point in Castlewick. Jeremy’s working behind the bar at the Light has enabled Billy some spare time to look after the garden.
Jeremy is overcoming his drink problem and working behind the bar at the Castlewick Light. The Vicar’s association with his housekeeper Rose has become quite a talking point but Mary has more to say over breakfast to her Mother Alice Palmer.
There is deadlock over the sale of the old Art Studio with the discovery of some old Roman coins. The relationship of the Vicar with his housekeeper, Rose, is causing some gossip and Jeremy has been getting depressed and turning to drink resulting in him accidently pushing Billy over.
Clive is in deep water over his plans for the old Art Studio, he’s accused the Major of passing on confidential information to Dorothy and Jeremy suspects the interest in his wife is more than professional. Paul Taggart has also walked out on his wife Mary.
Tom Palmer is going to take the Peacock’s Grandchildren out in his new launch. Clive thinks Dorothy is gaining the upper hand in the fight for the Arts Studio. Billy is adapting well and he and Marge are back to the old routine of preparing the pub for opening time.
Dorothy and Clive are still battling for ownership of the art studio complicated by the arrest of the owner for murder. Eleanor and the Major have Ruth visiting with their grandchildren James and Emily. Billy has been away for a week at a rehabilitation centre for the blind.
