On this week’s episode, we welcome into The Cat Club Podcast studio two members of Columbus-based Psychedelic Funk-and-Roll band, Love Alive. David Lurie (guitars/vocals) and Chase Finley (lead guitar) showed up with cold adult beverages, as we spent an all-too-short hour talking about the band, their new album and myriad other topics. We played a few songs, as well.

The comedic styling of Holy Juan, also known as Fake Dispatch, but better known as Doug Powhida joins The Cat Club Podcast for a fun filled, music laden show. We talk about his new book, peruse his twitter feed and get his take on songs from The Kyle Sowashes, Bobaflex, Mary Lynn and Wussy. One word… WOW!

We get a bit risqué on The Cat Club Podcast this week, as those crazy kids from Electro Cult Circus brought the music, some tales of yore and a touch of burlesque to the studio. Rick Gethin, the show’s host, was smiling as it all unfolded… It’s always a fun time when Casey “Oddfellow” Ward, Vivienne Vega and Mike Folker stop by, because you never know where the conversation will wander. This week, we present the “Sunday Blues Plate Special with Dock Adams and Blues Hammer.” Dock, Thomas and Rick talk about the local Blues scene, play a few Dock Adams and Blues Hammer songs and get up-and-personal with the stories behind those tunes.

This week’s episode of The Cat Club Podcast was very much in doubt as late as 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning. But lo and behold, Chuck Oney stepped-up to the plate in the wee hours of the morning and agreed to join us in the studio. His lineage runs long and deep, having been a founding member of ONEY (1987-1992), The Vague (1993-2013), Chuck Oney and The Flare-Ups!, Bad Idea Cocktail, and of course… his solo work.

The Cat Club Podcast provided the toast, as Electric Orange Peel brought the jam to this week’s show. Austin Crumrine, Marko Manastyrskyi, Dylan Aughe and Nate LaBine share some history of the band, delve into some wonderful stories and get a little weird with host Rick Gethin. A few select tracks from their new album, Seed, were played, too.
