The parable of the Sower teaches us that the gospel must take root in our lives and produce fruit. The seed is viable, but the soil is the problem.
Don't just hear the Word, act on it! Learn to master biblical joy, even in hard times.
Jesus understands our pain, and we can learn from Him. Joy is a technology for soul maintenance - start with faith, and your spirit will catch up.
Fruits are evidence of your transformation and the evidence that you are truly saved. You now have joy as a fruit. But joy is not just a fruit.
Jesus said that in this life we would go through trials and tribulations. So as believers, we need to know the weapons in our arsenal.
Jesus also said be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Joy, then, is not just a fruit but also a weapon in your arsenal. We must learn that victory does not come through strength or might.
Can you trust God, knowing that with God nothing is impossible? Can you approach your trials this way? The more excellent way is to rejoice! You rejoice because God has already given you the victory.
Porcelain believers are fragile under pressure. We live in a fallen world where hard times will come. But what is your response?
Are you a porcelain believer, or are you a believer who understands what he has on the inside and takes from within and puts it on display?
The fruit of the Spirit is evidence of your spiritual transformation, and one of that evidence is joy!
Another aspect of joy that is emphasized in this sermon is called "Delight.". This is something that satisfies you deeply.
For some people, it could be food. For others, it could be games. These things greatly excite them.
But if Christianity does not command your desires as much as other things do, you just might not understand the concept of changed desires.
Nothing should matter to you more than knowing that you have Christ in you. That you have found Christ is the most delightful thing there should be in your life.
Allow your priorities in God to match the changed desires that you have experienced by the Holy Spirit in you.
Refuse to accept that anything, be it career, family, relationships, academics, etc., should take the place of God in your life.
Being a fruitful believer means that you are able to hear fruits and fruits are the evidence of spiritual transformation.
As a believer there are expected fruits you have to bear.
With the help of the holy Spirit, you can build new habits and drop old habits.
In the final teaching of the Paraclete series, we explore one of the most profound works of the Holy Spirit: resurrection.
The Holy Spirit is not only a comforter, counsellor, or teacher. His work goes beyond revivals in cities. His primary work is the revival of men from death to life. He is the life-giving Spirit, the One who brings the dead back to life.
After Jesus died, Scripture no longer referred to Him as the only begotten Son, but as the first begotten from the dead. This reveals something powerful: the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead was already at work in Him.
Resurrection was not external; the mechanism of life was within Him.
And now, that same Spirit lives in us. Because you have the Holy Spirit, the power of resurrection is already at work in you. We have this assurance in Christ. We carry a life-giving Spirit. Death does not have the final word; life does.
Fellowship is an offshoot of justification. Only a right-standing man can have fellowship.
Man died when he sinned. Not just man, but the whole of mankind. Man became separate from God, and anything separate from God begins to die. So the Bible calls the old man dead, alien, estranged, and enemy.
The job of the Holy Ghost is then to mend broken bridges. Your restoration to God’s family, to koinonia, is by the Spirit.
This reconciliation is to be born again. By the Spirit, you can cry Abba Father. Whatever was the inheritance of that family is now yours. Whatever He does for His children is now yours. Whatever He has to offer is now yours. And this affects everything, including your prayer life.
From this teaching, we learn that God has books: the Book of Life and the Book of Reward.
Purpose is that one thing for which you were created and at which you must succeed; otherwise, nothing else you succeed at will count.
The men and women of the Bible wrote their faith stories, not with ink alone, but with their lives, using every resource available to them for the sake of God’s kingdom.
So the question returns to you: What is your faith story?
God is calling us to participate in His move. The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few, and prophecy only becomes reality when we take responsibility.
God is building not just a church but a family, and every believer has a part to play. Do not come only to receive, come to serve. This is the time to step up with willing hearts, because every joint supplies, and God is ready to work through us.
To be sanctified means to be made holy. It is a regeneration of one's spirit.
This is an active work of the Holy Ghost, who creates a new mechanism in the believer.
