  • The ONLY Reason You Should Buy a New iPhone!

In this week's episode, is there enough of a reason to upgrade your iPhone to the new iPhone 14? Or should you stay right where you're at?

We're breaking down the pros, cons, and some of the biggest new features. But FIRST, we're kicking it off with news that the US is looking at expanding into digital currency. It's a big step and would make the US one of the first major countries in the world to add a digital version of their currency, all in an effort to strengthen the dollar has the country braces for a recession. Is it the right move? And if we do create a digital currency, what does that mean for your future purchases? We break it all down.

Then, we go deep on the new features of the iPhone 14. So deep, in fact, we touch on the features Apple isn't even advertising. And that ends up being part of the focus of our discussion - why is Apple not advertising these features? Things like emergency calls in the event of a crash, or using satellite for an emergency when there's no cell reception. These are key features that maintain Apple's efforts to be top-of-the-pack in the smartphone competition. So why is all we hear about just a new camera, and a Dynamic Island? Don't worry, we're breaking those down too, plus who should get iPhone, and who shouldn't!

Then, we touch on the big new changes that arrived with iOS 16. Is THIS the real reason to get a new iPhone? Or will your upgraded old iPhone do the trick? Plus, the main features you need to know about to make the most of the new operating system!

There's a lot to discuss. Let's get into it!

  • Worldwide Water Wars

This week, it's a continuation of the concern over worldwide water wars. We've already talked about the concerns in places like Jackson, MS and the desert southwest. But we're already seeing cracks in infrastructure and water resources around the world. We discuss how weakened infrastructure, lack in proper resource planning, and climate change are causing the formation of water wars worldwide. Plus, are there solutions to this issue already at our fingertips? How proper conservation, limiting usage, and maybe even desalination can transform the narrative of the Water Wars.

  • Let the Water Wars Begin

This week, fears of water wars are worsening across the country and the world as climate change and old infrastructure causes major issues for reliable drinking water. From a long-term boil water advisory causing Jackson, Mississippi to lose access to palatable and bottled water, to the Southwest facing extreme drought, signs of what many are fearing as a "water war" are growing. What does that mean? Many say with more drought expected due to global warming, and the continual aging of infrastructure, many highly-inhabited areas could face water shortages for years to come. This, of course, leading to desperate measures to gain access to healthy drinking water. What does this mean for our future? And what are our solutions to keep fresh H2O on tap? We discuss, and much more in this week's episode.

  • Inflation Reduction Act III - Tax the Rich

In this week's episode, we're diving into one of the ways Democrats are paying for things in the new Inflation Reduction Act - Increasing taxation on large corporations. Businesses that make over $1 billion (Dr Evil voice) per year now face a 15% corporate minimum tax rate increase. This is one of the ways the Biden Administration is making good on a campaign promise, while also funding the billions in incentives for America to invest in green energy.

The question - is the corporate tax hike enough? Or, does it go too far in a time of such economic volatility? At the same time, how can we justify steps like these to help our economy, while also forgiving millions in student loans? Does it all even out? Or does it add volatility to an already-shaky economy? we discuss those details, and much more on this week's episode.

  • Inflation Reduction Act II - Let's All Go Green

This week, we're diving into part 2 of our 3-part series on the Inflation Reduction Act, now officially signed into law! We're talking about the bill's measures to make clean and renewable energy more affordable. Most of the bill is aimed at tax credits and rebates for consumers investing in things like solar panels, winde energy, and heat pumps. But is it enough to make clean, renewable energy cost-effective for you? And how do these incentives stack up to the incentives being given to Corporate America? Spoiler alert: It's a BIG difference.

We want to share our points and leave the rest up to you - Is this money well-spent on clean energy investments to stimulate the economy and help the environment? We dive into every aspect, but want to hear your thoughts! Leave us a review and let us know!

  • Inflation Reduction Act I - Did Biden Make EVs Affordable?

This week, we kick off our 3-part series diving into the intentions of the Inflation Reduction Act - designed to fight climate change, tax the rich, and more. We're kicking it all of with a look at tax incentives on Electric Vehicles. The government plans to provide up to $7,500 in tax credits for purchases of EVs. Think of it as sort of a rebate that comes further down the line. But, is it enough to make Electric Vehicles affordable? Which models qualify? Will it give you a reason to consider going electric? Plus, we dive into how the Act is helping certain car manufacturers, but reportedly potentially crippling others.

But first, it's a battle as old as time. We get asked which is best in the realm of new phones - Apple vs Samsung. We dive into which phones appeal to who, and why. Is there really an answer as to which phone is best? Or just a look at who it fits better? Why right now, there is no clear cut winner in the race for the best phone. And, what's in store for the future of the smartphone industry.

It's a lot to discuss. Let's get into it!

  • Love at First Touch (A Love Story of All Things Digital)

This week, we take a trip down memory lane by highlighting all the technological marvels that still blow our mind, no matter how new or old. We start out by discussing older innovations like the fax machine or the iPod, and why their creation is still mind-blowing today. In fact, so much in the world around us are things once thought only possible in science fiction novels. But this week, we're honoring their impact, and looking forward to what other things could change the world as we know it.

Is it AI? Is it self-driving cars? Is it a trip into the metaverse? Or something different altogether? There's a lot that could change the way we interact on a regular basis. And there's a lot to be excited about for the future. But there are also creations to be wary of. What future tech are we most excited about, what has us the most concerned, and a whole lot more on this week's episode. Let's get into it!

  • Back to School Fears?

This week, we're talking about the threat many kids face when going back to school following the continued rise in active shooter incidents at schools. Is it safe to go back into the classroom? We take a look at what some districts are doing to protect their students, and whether or not these measures - and the measures of the federal government - are enough to keep children safe and crack down on the dramatically growing trend of school shootings. • It's Getting Hot In Here, and It's Not Gonna Stop

This week, we're talking about the global heat wave reeking havoc across the world, melting infrastructure, causing wildfires, and impacting the health and wellbeing of us all. What are we doing right now to brace for impact from the sweltering heat? And an even greater question - are these a sign of things to come?

Many scientists believe - yes, these extreme temps are what will become the norm should nothing be done about climate change. So what could that mean for us, and civilizations that aren't built to withstand the impacts of such heat? Also, some good news from MIT scientists who believe they may have found a way to reverse global warming entirely. What does their invention look like, and what would it take to implement it? It's all up for discussion on this episode! Let's get into it!
