This week started off as a simple discussion. What happens when jobs pay you to go to conferences, learn, mingle, adventure and.... play? If we stop and think about it, aren't paying employees to go have fun - albeit in the name of their chosen professions - contrary to American workplace stereotypes? Or is the gain worth the time and money spent? We hypothesize that while on the surface it's all fun and games, travel and conferences for work are just one of the ways companies invest in their employees to keep them around longer.
But what are the other ways companies are trying to get employees to stay longer? Turnover occurs at a high rate these days, yet things like increased PTO, work-from-home options, and other benefits are more prominent than ever. So is it the perks we're looking for? Or is it greater pay to go with the increased cost of living over the decades? Where's the disconnect between what younger employees want, and what managers and leaders think they want? We discuss with an ENGAGED live-stream audience, creating one of our favorite episodes we've ever had. Let's get into it!

This week, we're talking about the new push to keep your gas-powered vehicle alive for years to come! Formula 1 is currently developing renewable fuel that would be carbon net zero! What does that mean? Well for one, no impact on the environment! F1 says no emissions would be added to the environment that aren't already there, which could mean an eco-friendly competitor to the latest automotive trend - EVs. Could this be the EV killer? We seem to think so. With oil company Aramco - one of the world's richest companies - a primary sponsor of F1, and other oil companies exploring similar fuel alternatives, the push will likely be strong. And many car companies are already getting in on the tech, with some joining F1 just because of the new fuel push. Gearheads rejoice! Let's get into it.

This week, John and Denison jump into the high-speed world of sim racing, now seeing a new charge thanks to the release - and high impact updates - of Gran Turismo 7! We share the highlights of the game, compare the realism in GT7 to other big sim racing games like iRacing, Forza, Assetto Corsa, and more, and discuss why the franchise is once again a top player in the race to be the realest sim.
We also look at the fandom for sim racing, and what makes it such an attraction for gamers and viewers alike. Sim racing is consistently one of the most-viewed forms of gaming there is. Why is that? And how has that popularity played into the growth of real-life motorsports all around the world? Plus, we discuss how the next wave of motorsport all-stars could come directly from sim racing!
But before all of that, we dive into Drake's new album, "Honestly, Nevermind", which is what we think he should have said when thinking about making a dance album. The album is still doing well, debuting at number 1. But the top song off of it differs from the rest of the tracks - in that it's what we've come to expect from Drizzy. So, what is it about this album that makes it such a left turn for so many? And how long until people get tired of what we think is lazy songwriting and recording? Let's get into it!

We jump into a good old-fashioned Catchup this week, as Denison shares details on how he landed a new (to him) Tesla Model 3 with all the autopilot features you tech-lovers could desire! It's a car review unlike any we've ever done before, as we dive in to the vehicle's driving capabilities, how long it takes to charge, how you plan a trip in an EV, and what it's like to have your car come to you in the parking lot.
Then, John shares the details of his band No Signal getting the chance to open for multi-platinum selling rock band, Saving Abel. The moment also provided an opportunity for the band to unveil their new single Collateral, available now on all platforms. YOU CAN LISTEN TO IT HERE! It's a lot of hard work for John and Denison coming to fruition in the most exciting of ways, with several takeaways for continued growth and goal-chasing in your own life. Let's get into it!

This week, we're talking about the thing impacting all of us... high gas prices. In the past couple weeks, the steady climb of gas prices transitioned to a gigantic leap, setting record national prices, and showing no sign of slowing down. So it begs the question... will gas ever be affordable again? It's a tough time for high gas prices when combined with record inflation raising the price of just about everything. And if you're thinking now is the time to switch to an all-electric vehicle, good luck. Just as with many electronics, supply chain issues are hindering production of EVs and sending prices skyrocketing.
So, gas isn't affordable, neither are their electric counterparts, and the price increases won't slow down for some time. What's causing all of this? What can you do? Is there hope on the horizon? If so, is there a stopgap measure to conserve funds? We discuss it all and much more on this week's episode.

This week, we're talking about why the only thing holding you back from your successes is YOU. John shares his story of his efforts to record and release a professional EP, and the sacrifices he's making along the way. Whether it's relaxation time, personal time with others, or some other recreation, there's a lot that goes by the wayside. But even when the creation process is done, if you want to see success from the project there's still much more work to be done.
Whether it's promotion on social media, a live performance/presentation, or something else, the goal is to get whatever you're pursuing out in front of people. That takes creativity, perseverance, and (when those two things are combined) lack of concern for annoying people. It's all part of a big process to achieve your dreams, and while the road is long one thing is for certain - if you work hard and effectively enough, you'll achieve whatever you set out to do.
Plus, Denison shares a sneak peek of an all-new The Catchup video special coming soon! You don't want to miss it!

This week, we're diving into the Multiverse! But not the one Marvel tells you about. We're looking at actual Multiverse theory, how it came to be, and why it could explain many parts of our reality! Did you know some scientists believe that our universe is connected to an infinite amount of other universes? Did you also know that both the thing that causes this theory, and is explained by this theory is right around us? Multiverse theory provides unlimited possibilities - some universes abundant with life (much more than ours is known to be right now), and others where matter can't even exist. It's unlimited possibilities, and there's a lot to talk about!
The same element that influences multiverse theory also plays a pivotal role in another scientific theory - something we're all more familiar with thanks to the newest Marvel movies. We're talking about String Theory! It's the idea that while we can only perceive four dimensions (length, width, depth, and time), there may be as many as 6 more dimensions that we can't perceive. Views of our reality with limitless other possibilities, including parallel realities with subtle decision-making difference throughout that influence different outcomes. Or, entirely alternate realities with completely different conclusions. And, realities and perceptions entirely devoid of the passage of time. Again, the possibilities are endless.
So, how did this theory come to be? It helps explain/is somewhat caused by quantum physics. These are things that take place on a sub-molecular level, and may be influencing the world and universe around us in ways we can't even fathom. This leads into the theory that these unrealized dimensions are either so big, or so small that we can't perceive them. It's mind-bending, awe-inspiring, and leads to several unique theories of our own! It's a big-brained episode, and we can't wait to dive into it with you!

This week, Daniel Garrett submitted our topic: Are EVs the true driver's test? Or, are they just a trendy fad? Our answer lies somewhere in between. What if instead of a trend, the answer is simple: a stopgap. Maybe EVs are just a trendy holdover until something more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly comes along. And while there's no doubt all of us will have to adjust to this brave new car world... maybe what's to come includes a resurgence of gas powered vehicles (this time with renewable fuel). Or, maybe it's new hybrids or hydrogen-powered vehicles we're driving around. Or maybe, we're not even driving at all!
But before all of that, we get distracted by the futuristic rabbit hole that is Elon Musk. His latest endeavors seem to grow ever more head scratching. Why is it that the man who once said AI would be the downfall of human existence...is now working on a humanoid AI, with prototypes due later this year! What does the world stand to gain from this technology? Why is there an arms race toward this brave new future? And why is it so important that Elon Musk wants to keep these AI from talking to each other? There's a whole lot to discuss, and we get into all of it!
