In the very first podcast of The Finer Art of Teaching we give a little bit of background on the podcast's inception, where we hope to take it and what we can, hopefully, do for the listeners and education, as a whole. 

We interview new teacher, Lily Aucker about what she anticipates about her first year in the classroom. 

Also, we get into the practice of calling teachers by their last names. Why do we do it? Is it an outdated practice or a necessary barrier between students and teachers?
