Today is my 1 year anniversary & it's an emotional one. One year. And whoa how so much has changed.

Anniversaries are so contemplative. So much comes up in this date, this little stamp in time. This expression of a decision - one that most likely completely changed your life!

What is this - what's happened since? What's changed? So many questions - questions that offer contemplation that can take us places. Places we'll wonder how to go on our own until we realize we never are.

I think they were mad that I was glad - but that's okay I don't feel bad. My initial reaction to the text message of his death was joy! Joy and relief for those that I love and for what God is doing in and through our lives.

Initially I think they felt differently about my reaction but the truth is we're all going to die, so how are we living this one and only life! Are we seeing, honoring, and rejoicing in it or wasting it away?

Death often brings reflection - so what new direction are we going to go based upon what we know?
