Picks From the Shelf is a new series we're starting, where we will take a movie we own that we've already seen or have been meaning to watch and cover the release on this series. The show will have a focus on boutique Blu-ray labels and will cover the film, plus what's included inside the package.

This week, we cover a film based on the real-life events of Jimmy Governor. The film The Chant of Jimmy Blacksmith (Schepisi, 1978) is a cold drama that examines and ruminates on violence and systematic racism.
