Charlie kicks off the first hour recapping the Astros’ victory against the A’s last night. He breaks down player stats so far this season and where they will potentially end up by October. Charlie compares the Astros’ 1-2-3 starters to other teams around the league, and shares his take on whether the Astros could win the World Series this year. To wrap up the hour, he chooses some Astros players for potential end-of-season awards, including Cy Young and Rookie of the Year.

Charlie kicks off the second hour going through the Astros’ trade possibilities and how they can lock down key players on their roster before breaking down the current playoff standings around the league. Richard Justice from MLB.com joins the show to talk to Charlie about what teams around the MLB need to focus on before the trade deadline, if the Astros are going to make any roster changes soon, and how other potential playoff contenders are holding up around the league. Charlie looks through a list of the most valuable sports teams around the world. He wraps up the hour revisiting a ridiculous football play.

Charlie starts off the show with talking about the Astros ending the Texas Rangers season last night with a win and eliminating their chances of making the playoffs. Will the Rangers now trade Mike Minor since the playoffs are out of the picture? Then he predicts their next series against the Oakland A’s and speculates who wins each game. Also, he talks about the back-to-back home runs by the Astros that happened in that game as well. He then transitions to the magnificent rookie season Yordan Alvarez is having and how key it is for this Astros team.

After the break, a guest joins the show to discuss the upcoming game between the Astros and the A’s. Then they discuss the other teams in the MLB and which one sticks out to them the most. Also, they talk about who is the best pitcher in the league and give their suggestions to who may deserve that title. Charlie then presents the question of who will make the wild card spot. Then he talks about the recent walk-off Giants win, Mike Trout’s 32nd home run of the season is on pace to hit 51 for the year, will he win the home run title? James Harden recently encountered an 11-year old that said his step back is a travel.

He explains the Astros’ difficulties traveling from LA back to Houston with no breaks between games. Charlie shares some trivia from past football seasons before giving his thoughts on this weekend being the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and the Russell Westbrook trade. He wraps up the hour with updates from the British Open.

Charlie spends the second hour giving updates on standings from around the AL West and the rest of the MLB. It’s twelve days until the trade deadline, so Charlie shares some potential trades for different teams and whether that would help them. He shares some of the best stories about the upcoming inductees into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Charlie wraps up the hour with one of his favorite Bob Costas moments that happens to be connected to this anniversary of the moon landing.
