Season two is finally here y'all! Did it sneak up on you just as fast as it did us? We had so many plans for the off-season, and somehow we didn't even come up with a better rating system than "it'll drink"...but we did come back with a new set, a new list of breweries, and loads of new stories. Dive in with us this week as we explore Uptown, with all of its glorious coastline, dismay for all things British, and quiet unwillingness to acknowledge its reverence for certain things British. Of course we'll discuss other pressing topics like the great New Jersey bias, what it's like to break up with a country when the rest of your family stays in the relationship, and how the most important people in Charlotte come from Pennsylvania. There's probably more, but apparently we also don't listen to each other as we record...who knew?

We have finally made it: this is the final episode of our inaugural season. Join us for one last journey of chaos as we explore over-simplified road names which make traveling far more complicated than it should be, a cultural history that's so generic it's insulting, and a few of our favorite things: conspiracies and "great" robberies. Although, can you really blame it when these kinds of stories sound like they came right out of a word problem from high school math? Join us as we explore the origins of clickbait and crowdsourcing, town conspiracies used to point out the locals, and the differences in how our neighborhoods preserve their history. Our penultimate episode is a special one indeed, fueled by a direct interview with the owners of Pharr Mill Brewing, two very different beers, and Dru's very particular set of skills (that he's willing to let you use...for the right price).

With just a few episodes left, take a stroll through historic Belmont with us. We'll learn all about the chronicles of William, a 13-year old dropout from Georgetown, and why it's a bad military tactic to fight uphill battles. A few things for you to ponder as we work through this week's topics: what would it look like if Brad Panovich became a monk? How do monks "take over" a farm? It's a 50/50 shot if this episode will help the leadership in Matthews take a look at how they're preserving town history or if it will cause the few businesses we're working with in that area to back out of their contracts with us due to offense...here's hoping for the former. This week we visit Matthews' beer-muda triangle while trying to determine the likelihood of a town-wide secret society. We'll learn what it means to be a 'bee city', brewery culture doesn't equate to blaring AC/DC into the late night hours, and what's in store of our local soccer team. What we will NOT learn this week is how many seats exist in the Sportsplex, the mechanics behind throwing shade, and how something can be considered a bank robbery if nothing was ever taken. Welp, Dru has finally given up on trying to get y'all to tell your mama's about this podcast...so clearly the next logical step is for you to be 'that guy' at work and put us on blast regardless of how negatively your coworkers respond. So good luck with that. Along the way, we'll run into beer reviews from llamas, potential brewery themes for season two, and Chrissy's inability to remember any of the breweries we've ever visited. We're looking at a famous case of injustice that managed to put Monroe, North Carolina on the map. But before we get you all riled up, we explore the roots of a local store chain, the end of bartering in the southeast, and why anyone would start having children at nearly 60 years old. Along the way, we'll also discuss the feasibility of camera-smuggling, clever ways to gain revenue to avoid business loans, and how it took one company over a century to realize the importance of branding. This week we swing from far south of Charlotte, up into the northern part of Mecklenburg County. Tell us what you think about our Cornelius conspiracy as we take a look into the French Revolution, mistaken identity, and a painting used as evidence. This week we learn that it's possible for Chrissy to be louder than she already is if you bring up the right kind of topic - and Dru will call her out on it every time, regardless of his preexisting inability to hear. Who knew that Rock Hill, SC would instigate such a ruckus? Join us as we take a deeper look at some scandalous artwork, military training (courtesy of Westeros?), the most expensive towel you'll probably never see, and the most quintessentially 'southern' set of skills for a man to have. It's probably for the best that the beer we tried this week was surprisingly nondescript; there is more than enough flavor to be had in the conversation alone.

Join us as we tackle the delicate topic of race relations - so naturally, nearly every time we intend to say "desegregation" we say "segregation"...yikes. If you see us walking around with bruised foreheads, it's from the wildly frustrated facepalms that came during the editing of this recording. Aside from our own idiocy, (can we blame it on the alcohol?) we're exploring at Charlotte's West End: a neighborhood full of rich history and a brand new brewery. We'll look back at one of the most violent days Charlotte has experienced and see how things may not be so different even today, while also admiring an iconic cultural hub that may soon be torn down, much to our dismay.
