Lisa Miller is a consultant who studies the ever-changing consumer sentiment throughout the pandemic. 

Business owners have accused workers of being lazy, or disincentivized by expanded federal unemployment benefits — while workers say they're not paid enough for what they do, and are seeking better pay, benefits, and schedules.

But surveys suggest another group shoulders some of the blame: consumers who have treated workers poorly and led some of them to quit their retail jobs and refuse to return to the industry.

In a poll of restaurant workers from earlier this year, eight in 10 said that they had experienced hostile behavior from customers who didn't want to follow COVID-19 safety protocols. About half said they were considering leaving their jobs, and of that group, four in 10 said this was because of customer hostility and harassment.

You’ve heard all the warnings about how supply chain issues could cause mayhem for parents finding toys for the holidays since many toys come from Asia.  Today the President of the Toy Association is telling ABC News that the best selection you’re going to find is right now.  Already there are gaps in supplies of popular toys but he says there is no one hot toy this year.  He says Nintendo Switch, Marvel, and Star Wars products are all beginning to show short supplies.  He says if you know your kids want something buy it now or it may not be available in a couple of weeks.  He warns if you buy from an unknown seller you run the risk of getting a fake or getting nothing at all.  Even if not buying toys, the advice is buy now or you may find nobody has the item.

A group of conservative GOP senators this morning issued a statement calling on President Biden to reconsider 2 “vaccine mandates” calling them “unconstitutional” and “an extreme abuse of power” adding that the emergency nature of the orders also sidelines public comment and creates a particularly onerous situation for federal contractors who are also not allowed the regular testing alternative.  "Firing hardworking Americans who choose not to get vaccinated not only undermines the significant work Congress and the Trump Administration did to save millions of jobs, it also exacerbates the workforce shortages employers are already facing.  The disappointing economic data released by your own Administration outlines the serious nature of this issue. The demand for workers is strong, but there are simply not enough workers to fill positions. Forcing employers to terminate loyal employees who are willing to work when businesses are facing significant challenges in hiring—and after Congress has invested trillions to save their jobs—is nonsensical."

Alex Stone - ABC NEWS CORRESPONDENT, Los Angeles

One day after the human remains found in the Florida park were positively identified as being those of Brian Laundrie through dental records, the Laundrie family attorney is speaking to ABC News.  He says the family believes that Laundrie committed suicide and will move forward on that belief unless the medical examiner finds something proving otherwise.  He says the family wanted to stop Laundrie when he left the house but he was intent on leaving when he left to possibly kill himself.  He says the family has been cooperating from day one on the disappearance of Brian but that the parents have nothing to add about what happened to Gabby KGO810 Petito.
