They were philanthropists at heart, but the patriarch was a cut-throat businessman who seemed to enjoy suing others for fun. Many people wanted him dead but that doesn't mean they would commit a double murder. It's now December and the slayings of four college students in Moscow, ID is getting cold. With so many students at risk, the cops would be acting on tips if there was something legitimate to investigate. But the case looks as cold as the Idaho weather. On Friday, October 17th 2003, a young couple, Lisa and Brandon, drove out a remote area called Sunset Point in Yavapai County, Arizona to celebrate their one year dating anniversary by stargazing. Before the sunrise they were dead, shot multiple times in the head while tucked in their sleeping bags. The were found in the bed of their Ford F150 truck. Nineteen years later and the double homicide is still a mystery. In the first part of this two part series I examine the crime, taking you back 30 years from that starry night to learn about a motive. In part two (12/6/22) I describe a scenario of mine based on the facts of this case and the fiction I would write.
