  • Killing the Earth softly with prepackaged grocery store salad bowls in order to lose 70 kilos

“As you would with meat and poultry, don't let bagged lettuce stay out of the fridge for too long, because bacteria multiply at room temperature,” says James E. Rogers, Ph. ... If even a few leaves look damaged, slimy, or bruised, don't eat any of the greens in that package.

In terms of health, the benefits of eating a healthy salad definitely outweigh the risks. Being able to pick up a premade salad bowl at the deli when you're on the run or stocking your fridge with fresh greens that are ready to eat makes it that much more likely that you'll make the healthy choice.

Not all salads are healthy or nutritious. It depends on what is in the salad. It is OK to add small amounts of dressing and toppings, however, if you overdo it with high-fat add-ins, your salad may cause you to exceed your daily calorie needs and contribute to weight gain.

Loaded with vitamins and minerals, eating a salad a day will also increase the level of powerful antioxidants in your blood. The basis of any salad, leafy greens, offer a huge nutritional benefit. Among the best of the super greens group are: kale, spinach, beet greens, watercress and Romaine lettuce.

A salad and water diet can help you to lose weight and support your health. However, it is important to eat more than just salads. You should create a well-balanced meal plan to provide your body with essential nutrients.

Eating Salads for a Month and Weight Loss. Eating just salads for a month may lead to weight loss, but it isn't the only way to lose weight. Eating a balanced, varied diet is recommended for overall health and long-term weight loss success. Keep these tips in mind if you are planning to eat more salads for weight loss.

Grocery store food is typically sold in glass, metal, plastic or paperboard containers, and often comes encased in multiple layers. Those containers are then placed into plastic or paper grocery bags.

Processed food often has multiple layers of packaging; for example, a food item might be placed in a tray, covered in paper or plastic wrap, placed into a paperboard box and then, often, covered again in plastic wrap.

People think a few salad leaves on their plate is healthy, whereas it can be more damaging for people to think they are getting nutrition when there’s next to no value in lots of prebagged salads. Only dark green leaves, like rocket or spinach, contain any notable amounts of nutrition.

  • Dr. Stephen A. Gaeta, M.D., PhD, doesn't need to see me or my heart for a full year, inshallah!

An irregular, often rapid heart rate that commonly causes poor blood flow.

The heart's upper chambers (atria) beat out of coordination with the lower chambers (ventricles).

This condition may have no symptoms, but when symptoms do appear they include palpitations, shortness of breath, and fatigue.

Treatments include drugs, electrical shock (cardioversion), and minimally invasive surgery (ablation).

Tikosyn: This medication is used to treat certain types of serious (possibly fatal) irregular heartbeat (such as atrial fibrillation/flutter). It is used to restore normal heart rhythm and maintain a regular, steady heartbeat. Dofetilide is known as an anti-arrhythmic drug.

Cardioversion is a procedure used to return an abnormal heartbeat to a normal rhythm. This procedure is used when the heart is beating very fast or irregular. This is called an arrhythmia. Arrhythmias can cause problems such as fainting, stroke, heart attack, and even sudden cardiac death.

Cardioversion is a medical procedure by which an abnormally fast heart rate or other cardiac arrhythmia is converted to a normal rhythm using electricity or drugs. Wikipedia

People also search for: Catheter ablation, Defibrillation, Ablation, MORE

Tachycardia refers to a heart rate that's too fast. How that's defined may depend on your age and physical condition. Generally speaking, for adults, a heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute (BPM) is considered too fast.

Heart failure can occur if the heart cannot pump (systolic) or fill (diastolic) adequately.

Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, swollen legs, and rapid heartbeat.

Treatments can include eating less salt, limiting fluid intake, and taking prescription medications. In some cases a defibrillator or pacemaker may be implanted.

  • It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for an Entrepreneur to enter into the kingdom of Wikipedia

A person is presumed to be notable if they have received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Notability criteria may need to be met for a person to be included in a stand-alone list.

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

One does not have to be generally famous in order to have a Wikipedia page, one has to be Notable. That also means significant.

Significance is a lower standard than notability. While the inclusion of reliable secondary sources may itself be an indication of significance, not including any sources is entirely irrelevant to an assessment under these speedy deletion criteria.

On Wikipedia, notability is a test used by editors to decide whether a given topic warrants its own article.

Information on Wikipedia must be verifiable; if no reliable, independent sources can be found on a topic, then it should not have a separate article. Wikipedia's concept of notability applies this basic standard to avoid indiscriminate inclusion of topics. Article and list topics must be notable, or "worthy of notice". Determining notability does not necessarily depend on things such as fame, importance, or popularity—although those may enhance the acceptability of a subject that meets the guidelines explained below.

  • My next attempt at an Eye of the Tiger Summer

Just do it might be the most important bit of advice that anyone has given anybody. Thanks, Nike. It turns out that letting a charging watch, a misplaced logbook, piece of tech, or GPS is the best way to get in your own way, fitness- and health-wise.

I always assumed he just "picked them up;" however, after knowing him since he and I were both 18, I know for a fact that he works extremely hard at not only learning them but also becoming fluent to the point of adopting regional and local dialects. For example, being able to speak deep urban Berliner or Hochdeutch. On the call, he told me, "I learn languages overnight the way skinny people lose weight overnight."

I was also inspired by YouTube celebrity Michelle Khare as she records all of her I Trained Like series of videos. I keep on forgetting how much your very own clay can be molded in such a short while; also, imaging how much change one can make with a more longer-term, incremental, training pursued with purpose and everydayness.

I learned that this is a real, concrete, and humbling way this AM.

Instead of making sure I could find my log and get all funny about counting swings and jotting them down onto a pad or into an app, I just started swinging my kettlebells before my morning shower.

  • I was a teenage Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 skeptic and then got the J&J jab anyway

The J&J/Janssen vaccine was 66.3% effective in clinical trials (efficacy) at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 illness in people who had no evidence of prior infection 2 weeks after receiving the vaccine. People had the most protection 2 weeks after getting vaccinated.

Skepticism about vaccines in general and specifically how quickly the COVID-19 vaccines have been developed have some taking a cautious view of the shots that could bring an end to the pandemic, according to Louisville-area physicians.

“Patients often ask ‘are you going to get it?’,” said Steven Patton M.D., a family medicine physician with Norton Community Medical Associates – Preston. His answer is, “Of course.”

But he recognizes that many don’t understand how it went through development and clinical trials so fast.

“I think that’s a lot of the hesitance. A lot of people are talking about that,” Dr. Patton said

Dr. Patton notes that during a normal drug development effort, the drug makers don’t share information while working independently.

“Whereas this one, we were able to get the strain of the virus quickly, and then we were able to share our data of what we’ve learned from each other,” he said.

COVID-19 is caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.

  • Oy My Lumbago! Sciatica is Kicking My Butt

I have been calling the first one sciatica: "lower back and buttocks pain and tingling, numbness and some weakness that originates in the lower back and travel through the buttock and down the large sciatic nerve in the back of the leg" and the second one has been described fascial adhesion. The fascia is a thin sheath of fibrous tissue enclosing a muscle or other organ.

I have barely needed to know about all of these things because I have always been super-strong and resilient. I have also been generally much better at stretching before and after I ran or lifted, rowed, or sculled.

Myofascial release (MFR) is what I am all about now. My muscles are still strong and quick-to-respond but adding kettlebells swings -- maybe even the unique all-day-long stresses of the Get Fit, Get Fierce with Kettlebell Swings by Don Fitch which seems simpler and more gentle than I had thought: 90-seconds of kettlebell swings followed by an hour of rest, all day long.

Well, I had started by trying to use a foam roller to to smooth out my aching body but when your mobility is a little limited by injury and extra weight, I didn't use that heavy, solid, black foam roller nearly as much as I should.

  • Eight quick reviews of Netflix shows and movies I decided to review for you S2E12 [Fixed Audio]
    1. Thunder Force: Funny and worth watching. I liked the teen girls better than the adult superheroes. I hate it when nice people make asses out of themselves for comedic value when they're funny enough not to play the fat card. Melissa McCarthy as Lydia Berman and Octavia Spencer as Emily Stanton? What a waste of talent from both of them.  The entire movie should have been made with Tai Leshaun as Teen Emily and Mia Kaplan as Teen Lydia. That would have been much better. Those girls are funny and can act!
    2. The Blacklist: I hate this show. I love this show. I hate to love this show. I love to hate this show. I am obsessed with Megan Boone as Agent Elizabeth Keen and her beautiful imperfection. I am obsessed with James Spader as Red in this. And, I watch it for Hisham Tawfiq as Dembe. Everyone else is fungible, though Aram and Samar really work for it. Also, Ryan Eggold as Tom Keen is pretty keen.
    3. Country Comfort: Season 1: I loved this show. Katharine McPhee is an angel and this show tugs heartstrings in a very honest, lovely, funny, kid-friendly, and family-friendly way. I don't even know what it's about. It doesn't matter. It's country, it's sexy, it's funny, and it's filled with music and cameos.
    4. Lupin: Part 1: Is Lupin a spy, a thief, a murderer, an assassin, a hero? It's hard to know. Lupin is directed like a Young Adult series but it's deadly and violently serious. That said, Omar Sy as Assane Diop is a goofy dreamboat, I'm in love with Ludivine Sagnier as Claire, and Etan Simon as Raoul holds his own with his own sort of swag and style all his own. Superbe!
    5. The Crew: Season 1: This is a terrible show and I hate-watched the first season. And I really love Kevin James. Might be really popular with the NASCAR kids.
    6. The Magicians: This is how much I love The Magicians: I bought the book and read it and the audiobook and listened to it. And I am working through the second book. Lost me a little. Also, season 3 episode 5 A Life in the Day is burnt into my brain and my heart and I loved it so much. It's the one in which Quin and Eliot live an entire life together while making a magic mosaic. Amazing. It's about an elite and exclusive witch and wizardry school, but debaucherous. An actually gay and fabulous Harry Potter.
    7. Worn Stories: Limited Series: This series is such a breath of fresh air. Very cool, intimate, and simple. I literally laughed and cried. It's about people and an outfit, a piece, or a way of dress, and it's very sweet and emotional and compelling. It's soft-core clothes porn.
    8. Ginny & Georgia: Season 1: This series is anti-Gilmore Girls, for sure. All the sweetness and happiness is the result of unintended consequences and good luck and good hearts; however, it's a really rough ride and filled with darkness I can't reveal for reasons of spoilage. This show amazed me. Antonia Gentry as Ginny is a gorgeous chameleon and Brianne Howey as Georgia is this generation's Julia Roberts, just darker and more complex.

    11. What if Donald J. Trump was actually an asset of the Democrats and has been playing the role of GOP Heel to Joe Biden's DNC Face since the beginning: a thought experiment S2E10

      • In professional wrestling, a face is a heroic, "good guy" or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans. Traditionally, they wrestle within the rules and avoid cheating while behaving positively towards the referee and the audience.

In professional wrestling, a heel is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy" or "rulebreaker" and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters.

Could Donald Trump be a secret double-agent, sent by Democrats to destroy their party from within?

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who has borne the brunt of more than a few Trump barbs, seems to think there's a possibility.

"Maybe Donald negotiated a deal with his buddy Hillary Clinton," Mr Bush tweeted this week, after Mr Trump cited a poll showing his supporters would stick with him if he left the Republican Party. "Continuing this path will put her in the White House."

The New York billionaire has a spotty political history, at best. He was a Republican, then he was a pro-choice Democrat, and now he's a fire-breathing, anti-immigration populist conservative.

Could this latest iteration of Mr Trump's political brand be just a ruse, the elaborate cover for a liberal saboteur who has spent the past year setting explosives that threaten the unity of the party he pledged to support?

"If Donald Trump were a Democratic mole placed in the Republican Party to disrupt things, how would his behaviour be any different?" asked conservative political commentator George Will in July. "I don't think it would be."

"Mr Trump has a close friendship with Bill and Hillary Clinton," he said. "They were at his last wedding. He has contributed to the Clintons' foundation. He has contributed to Mrs Clinton's Senate campaigns. All of this is very suspicious."

Also suspicious - for those predisposed to suspicion, at least - is a "mystery" phone call between Mr Trump and Bill Clinton in May, less than a month before the real-estate tycoon tossed his hat into the presidential ring.

"Clinton encouraged Trump's efforts to play a larger role in the Republican Party and offered his own views of the political landscape," the Washington Post reported at the time.

"Trump didn't jump into this race because of his deep abiding love for America, or his being a Republican or caring about conservatism," he writes. "Trump jumped into this race because BILL CLINTON urged him to."

      About The Chris Abraham Show

      From the publisher's feed

tl:dr: Just a 55-year-old cisgender white male mansplaining his own self-importance. But good.
