The Chris and Amy Show on KMOX

Chris Rongey is joined by Matt Pauley to discuss the latest from the winter meetings in Dallas, including the Mets' record-breaking $765 million contract with Juan Soto. Matt breaks down the implications of this historic deal for the Yankees and Cardinals, while also delving into the potential trades of Nolan Arenado and Steven Matz. The conversation shifts to the Cardinals' focus on player development and shedding payroll, with a look at how these moves could shape the future of the team. Matt also praises Mizzou's exciting basketball win over Kansas, highlighting the rivalry and the growing optimism around the Tigers' program.

Chris Rongey and Nate Gatter discuss the appointment of Court VanOstran as St. Louis County Prosecutor, amid an ongoing legal battle between the state and county over who has the authority to make such an appointment. VanOstran, a former U.S. Attorney and adjunct professor at Washington University Law School, is seen as highly qualified, but uncertainty surrounds his immediate tenure due to the legal dispute. The state argues that its laws supersede the county's charter, while the county asserts the right to name a successor from the same party as the departing Wesley Bell.
