Jake gives me an absolute masterclass in the reason why so many people suffer with digestive issues in the modern western society. He gives a deep insight in to how dysfunction arrises, what impact this has on the body and how to fix it. We talk about everything from eating habits, anatomy and organ function to the endocrine system.
Steve is a close friend of mine and self employed musician. Last February he suffered the loss of his father. In this podcast, we discuss how losing a loved one can impact your mindset and well being as a someone who is self-employed and must keep their business afloat. We also talk about self development and the things we have learned from self-development courses over the years.
Kyle and I discuss previous mistakes we've made whilst training and dieting. We chat about what we'd wish we'd known back when we started lifting and how it's impacted the way we think about training today. Kyle also takes me through his screening process for clients and why he believes ingraining proper movement patterns is so important.
Akash and I discuss our experiences with intermittent fasting; how we've used it, when to apply it, what it's useful for and how to maximise it. This is less science and more the practical application on how to use a tool which can be quite effective for productivity and fat loss if used correctly.
Perry and I discuss what they most common causes of pain are in the general population. He takes me through how he diagnoses pain, where he believe the pain may be coming from and movements that are essential for lifelong pain free movement.
In the second part of our interview, Eugene and I go in depth in to the biomechanics of the whole body. We discuss the importance of alignment in the feet and neck, how important correct breathing is to our body and much more.
The initial idea with this podcast was to discuss the mechanics of the shoulder, elbow and wrist. However seeing the Michael is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to human movement, this interview evolved in to me picking Michaels brain about assessment methods and working with the general population. This is a very thought provoking conversation and gives a brilliant insight in to how you can improve your own screening processes and therefore enhance client results.
In the first instalment of this two part series Eugene and I discuss the biomechanics of the feet, why it is so important and how our lifestyles impact our movement quality and joint health. First Eugene explains how he developed his biomechanical theories and why these foundations are essential for long term health. He also gives some awesome advice about how you can improve the mechanics in your feet and how it'll help performance in other areas of your body.
I had the honour of interviewing legend in the strength training world, Dr Stuart McGill. We had an extensive chat about how he diagnoses lower back issues, his corrective strategies, the unanimous issues people suffering with lower back pain have, why mustn't just train muscles and why modified strongman training is one of the best modalities you can use for rehab.
This is my take on higher learning and what our brains are actually capable of doing. I personally believe that anyone can be super smart if they put the hard work in. In this podcast, I explain where these beliefs have come from and how you can apply methods that will enable you to do the same.
