The Christian Podcast Community

We tend to read stories like Hannah’s and think that all we have to do is pray hard enough, and God will give us the desires of our heart. The problem is that we’ve got it all mixed up. We’re so busy making out our shopping list of prayer requests and then wondering why God doesn’t give us what we’re asking for. But that’s not how prayer works.

Prayer is emptying ourselves and baring our soul to God, coming to Him completely broken, seeking not selfish pleasures, but allowing Him to open our eyes to what it is that He wants for us. When we give ourselves over to Him and to his desires, that is when we truly start to see answered prayer. For Bible study show notes, visit All God's Women websiteOriginal airdate July 2020

We are joined on today’s episode by Cory Marsh and James Fazio from Southern California Seminary. Our topic of discussion is the history of dispensational thought prior to Darby. Marsh and Fazio have edited a brand new volume entitled, Discovering Dispensationalism, which relies on quality scholarship to argue for the presence of dispensational themes prior to Darby. Join us as we survey the motivation behind the book as well as some of the content that the authors have put forward as evidence that dispensational thought existed prior to Darby.

Daily Devotionals with Religionless Christianity are a quick walk through the word. Each day we look at either a verse or two from scripture a meaningful commentary or other inspirational writing. Also, we include a daily Psalm, Proverb and a prayer. In today’s show, June 1st 2023, we are looking at Genesis 9:13-17

I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.” Gen 9:13-17
