Recently a Pennsylvania school district began collection action for parents with past due school lunch bills. One of the notices threatened to take away custody of their children.

It reminded me of something I've felt strongly about for years. Should school lunches be free?

It's not a political issue. We feed prisoners, we feed the military, we feed illegal immigrants, and we even host lavish dinners for foreign dignitaries. Wouldn't it only make sense to feed the children of this country?

What's the Difference Between Democrats and Republicans?

Do you know? As much time as we spend insulting each other you'd think just about everybody would be well versed on the differences. There are many, but there's also some common ground.

There's been a viral post going around, proudly shared by people who identify as liberals. It's an issue by issue description of where they stand.

I'll use this as a way to create a conversation not all the finger pointing, name calling and nonsense, but a serious debate on the issues. If not a debate at least a comparison.

I'll bet most people don't even have a clear idea what their party stands for. Nobody really thinks about it.

I've long said we need to be able to debate based on logic and reason. Debating, based on truth and facts not media propaganda.

So this is my attempt to take this liberal synopsis and compare it to what I believe are conservative positions on these issues without any judgement or finger pointing.

After 7 police officers were shot in a shootout with a convicted felon last week the Governor immediately launched a new plan. But, it couldn't have really been a new plan because it came out right away. So, in reality the plan was laid and in waiting.

Either way, the Governor laid out a very comprehensive plan in order to address the issue of gun violence. But, here's the thing the plan doesn't seem welcome with tax payers. There's been very little public support for the plan. So who's the Governor listening too?
