Should a Christian go to 12 step groups for help with addiction? Should Christians avoid it, is it unwise or is it helpful?

These are valid questions for any Christian who is dealing with addiction and looking for help. Here, I share my experiences being a Christian in recovery and what I've learned from "going to church in the basement"

Do you have regrets? Would you like to go back and change the past if you could? How’s God used your past though to bring you to where you are now? How has your past prepared you for your present ministry? I think it’s impossible to not have regrets but when you stop and think about what God has done since then, how he used your failures to mold you and shape you and bring you to where you are now…if we focus on that, we feel something different than regret and we feel grateful.If you have allowed God to change you and transform you and humble you from that past, that failure, those decisions, you can’t help but see yourself in a better place than you once were and that leads to us feeling grateful and Him getting the glory.I'm Andy and I make content for men who are struggling. In order to stay sober, we need to deal with the void left behind when we remove alcohol. All the stuff we avoided and numbed, is now exposed and experienced and unless we figure out how to deal with it, we'll resort to old ways so we don't have to.
