Many churches are beginning to convert toa digital mixer from the analog console that has been a solid main stay for the church. What are the Pros and Cons when it relates to the digital age. Listen, Laugh and Learn
How to Correctly Place a Subwoofer in a Room
Let’s first remember that sound propagates differently depending on frequencies. As subwoofers only generate low frequencies, typically well below 200 Hz, all types of subwoofer design
Wall and Corner Loading
Very low frequencies are not directional, so they radiate from the sides and back of the loudspeaker, as well as from the front. If you place a loudspeaker against a wall, the rear sound propagates back into the room. This can increase the bass frequency output as much as 6 dB if the speaker is placed near one wall
In the digital age of ministry having an online presence outside of the church could be a great idea, but where do I begin? The CSP Crew walks though the pros and cons of Podcasting. Listen, Laugh and Learn.
What is a Cardioid Subwoofer? Why Do I Need One?
Both speakers and microphones are transducers (devices that convert between electricity and air pressure) that just happen to be at the far ends of the audio chain. They are really doing the same thing in opposite directions.
A Directional Solution
Wouldn’t it be great if we could get the energy of a sub to go mostly forward just like our full-range speakers do? It would solve feedback and buildup problems and make the sub more efficient since it is pushing more of its energy at the audience. That is exactly the idea behind cardioid subs.

How far should a lapel mic be from your mouth?
However, as a general rule, it's recommended that you position the mic on the chest, about a hand-span distance (20-30cm) from the mouth. This will give you a natural, uncoloured sound.
