Continuing our series on Genesis: This one covers more than one chapter of Genesis as we cover the entire flood event from Genesis 5 through 9. • Ep 153 - Responding to Jubilee’s Pro vs. Anti Abortion Episode

Jubilee has a series they call Middle Ground where they have a group of people from opposing sides and ask them questions in an attempt to find middle ground. This is our 2nd response to an episode of theirs. Today's response is to their episode called "Is Abortion Murder?". The group we respond to includes 8 members which includes: 2 rape survivors, 2 that had made decisions to abort, 2 that had decided not to abort (one who is now pro life, one who is not), and even someone who was a product of rape. Christian and non-Christian pro-life views are also espoused. We respond to the good and bad arguments on both sides.

  • Ep 151 - Genesis 3: A Source for Apologetics & Doctrine

Continuing our Genesis series, we do a deep dive into the fall of man in Genesis 3. We examine the impacts of this chapter on many doctrines including Original Sin, Calvinism, Free Will, and Complementarianism. We answer questions like: Who sinned first? Could Eve had done otherwise? Was Adam sinning for blaming God for his sin? What was the lie Satan told? Did God know Adam/Eve would eat of the tree of life if he didn't guard it? Did the roles of men and women change with the fall? What is the result of the fall on mankind? Why does Genesis 3 focus so much on their nakedness? • Ep 149 - Apologetics is Not the Answer to Deconstruction? (From Trinity Radio)

Will joins Braxton Hunter on the Trinity Radio broadcast to discuss an article by Rebekah Drumsta. The article is titled "Christian Apologetics is Not the Solution to Faith Deconstruction". This is an incredibly important topic as it gets at the heart of why Christians do apologetics (Its not to "apologize" and its not to "start fights"). Its especially important to Will as apologetics and the endless source of knowledge found in God and scripture were one of the things that kept Will in the faith as a teen. We see so many people lately "deconstructing" and the idea that apologetics doesn't work to help someone reconstruct or won't prevent deconstruction all the way to apostasy is something The Church Split is deeply passionate about pushing back on.

  • Ep 148 - Dr. Leighton Flowers: Provisionism vs. Calvinism, TULIP, and Compatibilism

Dr. Flowers is well known in the Provisinist circles (Tradition Southern Baptist soteriology). As a former Calvinist, he brings a unique perspective on this well known debate and where the sides miss each other. Dr. Flowers is a Professor of Theology at Will's school, Trinity Seminary, he's the Director of Evangelism and Apologetics at Texas Baptist, and the host of the well known Podcast, Soteriology 101. Dr. Flowers also authored the book "The Potter's Promise", a response to Dr. White's book "The Potter's Freedom".

  • Ep 145 - Anti-intellectualism is Killing the Church & How to Restore Intellectualism in the Church

We bring on friend of the show and designer of our most popular merch, Ian Renwick, to discuss the modern wave of anti-intellectualism in the church. We discuss how its killing the church, why intellectualism is important, and how to bring intellectualism back into churches. Does your church fall into the category of anti-intellectual? Have you left a church that was anti-intellectual? Is your church trending towards anti-intellectualism? Are you a pastor/elder/leader in a church? If any of these apply, this episode should be very helpful.
