Coastal Alabama Community College is introducing an eight-week academy designed for those interested in beekeeping from Sept. 24 to Nov. 12 at the Monroeville campus. The course will run on Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. Participants will gain knowledge about honeybee biology, hive management, seasonal care, equipment and the best practices to maintain healthy colonies. The Beekeeping Academy is offered through a partnership between Coastal Alabama Community College, the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries and the Monroe County Cooperative Extension Service.
