Ole Miss walked into the perfect letdown game at Florida and got stomped. Defense still can’t stop the run. They’re sitting ninth in the AP, 12th in the coaches poll with an open date then Vandy. State looks legit, 16th in the coaches poll, Alabama coming to Starkville. Rankings are still living in last year. First month of the season should move. It isn’t.

Clay vs Grok week four: Clay 17-9 ATS + totals on the 10-12 best games (plus the Mississippi ones). Grok 15-11. Season: Clay still beating the computer. Emotion and letdown spots still matter more than last year’s recruiting rankings. That’ll flip once the data pile gets bigger. We’ll see.

Ellis Autoplex question of the day: pinpoint the exact moment society got substantially worse. Answers poured in — COVID, Great Society, parents asking kids what they want for dinner, Obama, prayer and discipline leaving schools. No blunt force trauma in any report. Red discoloration. Dry drowning explains empty lungs and stomach: larynx spasms, airway slams shut, no water ever gets in. Simplest explanation is usually the right one. He drowned. The boys are innocent. Crump and Wansley are doing a disservice to Nolan’s memory while she globe-trots instead of grieving.

Same playbook on Tasia Fortune. Third arrest. Drug debt. Hanging was staged after she was already dead. Sister said she weighed a hundred pounds soaking wet. Third Black face of “white supremacy” in Jackson. Stop inventing lynchings when the culture is eating itself at gas stations.

I keep hearing I won’t sit down with Black content creators. I have. I’ve been on their shows. What I will not do is chase grown men to argue on a show with my name on it.

Open invite: conversation, not a debate-club stunt. You want the chair, take it. Two rules. No slavery. No civil rights greatest-hits from before I was born. That file is closed for this conversation. Last fifty years only.

America has rolled out more opportunity in the time I’ve been alive than any other stretch or country you want to name. School, work, capital, the whole runway. Drive and self-control still required. Nobody is hunting you down to drag you onto it.

We can talk the ’80s crack wave. We can talk the ’90s crime bill. What we will not do is pretend the CIA made anybody light it or that Freeway Rick had no choice but to sell it. White neighborhoods got poisoned too. You did not have to sell the product. You did not have to torch the nuclear family. That part is on the people who did it.

Then I told my own story so nobody could hide behind “you don’t know.” Thirty-four, clubs gone, bankrupt, parents’ couch, one pair of clothes, truck getting repo’d in the driveway. Six months of why me. Then I looked in the mirror and admitted the only constant in every disaster was me. Effort or the lack of it. That’s the standard I’m holding. Healthy adults who chose culture rot over faith and basic decency do not get to lecture me about phantom oppressors.

Creston wanted to keep “systems.” I said save it. Time-is-racist Smithsonian talk does not get a seat. Majority-minority snake districts and the bigotry of low expectations do.

I told Zach Servis he had five seconds before we came back from break: name one good thing happening in Jackson that isn’t a restaurant or a museum. Person, place, crew, whatever. Just don’t give me the usual “great people” cop-out.

He came with Lock Ward, Roger Parks, and the Friday cleanup crews still picking up trash and pressure-washing storm drains the city won’t touch. Pierce doing the heavy washing. Timothy White working the Meadowbrook homeless mess and trying to turn scrap tires into something useful. Then his wife’s $10 screening of a midwife documentary at Duling Hall on October 17.

That’s the list. I still said they shouldn’t have to do the city’s job, Locke already had his car stolen for the trouble, and people will throw trash at their feet while they’re working. Zach still gave it. That’s the segment.

Parent-group rumors of a new synthetic called Cyclorfin (or cyclorphan) supposedly stronger than fentanyl and coming up from Louisiana.
