Clayton is joined by Joseph Mpa, Julian Voloj, and frequent guest Jose "Cochise" Quiles. Joseph Mpa is South Bronx native, a former member of the Black Panther Party, and the former manager of the legendary Bronx Hip Hop Crew "Cold Crush Brothers". Julian Voloj is an award-winning author from Germany best known for his non-fiction graphic novels -- including his 2015 release: "Ghetto Brother: Warrior to Peacemaker" -- which tells the true story of Benjy "Yellow Benjy" Melendez, a Bronx legend, son of Puerto-Rican immigrants, who founded, at the end of the 1960s, the notorious Ghetto Brothers gang. Cochise is a long time friend and collaborator of Clayton's, who founded the Satan's Sinners Nomads.
The four discuss Julian's book, "Ghetto Brother: Warrior to Peacemaker", which describes one of the most notorious street gangs in New York City history, the Ghetto Brothers, and their leader, Benjy "Yellow Benjy" Melendez. Mpa, who knew Benjy personally during his early life, offers his first hand accounts of the feelings/context of the gang treaties in the late 1970s, the death of Black Benjy, and more. The group goes onto discuss Mpa's early life and his experience as a member of the Black Panther Party.
