I also liked locating stolen cars that were still occupied by the car thief. Vic has many stories about car theft rings, and one that led to solving numerous homicides. In this podcast episode, I talk about how I discovered Stoicism, and who started Stoic philosophy. There are only a few Stoics who lived over two thousand years ago, that are well known. Most of the quotes and writings are from Epictetus, Seneca, and Marcus Aurelius. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is probably the best book written by someone who practiced the Stoic philosophy. Zeno the shipwrecked merchant started the philosophy in Athens Greece, and is still practiced today.

My guest this week is my good friend, Mike Marino. Mike is a National Headlining Comedian, who also has numerous television and movie credits. Mike performs on cruise ships, and to sold out venues around the country. Mike was a regular as a sketch comedian on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Mike and I have performed together hundreds of times since we met over thirty years ago.

I think about death to live a great life. After suffering the loss of a friend, family member, I try after grieving to be thankful for still being alive, and live with gusto. I came across Ryan Holiday, a writer who studies and practices the philosophy of stoicism. It really resonated with me, and the philosophy has as one of it' well known quotes; memento mori. Remember you are mortal. Not in a morbid way, but to be in, and cherish every moment. In this episode I take a lot of what I have learned from Stoicism, and also the content of Ryan Holiday.
