The C.O.D.E of Man

In this episode Mike and Corey are joined once again by Pastor, U.S. Army Chaplain, and Political Science expert, Graham Glover to take a look at what Americans can make of this year's midterm election results, and in particular how we, as Christian men, should respond.

In this special extended edition episode, we just let the recorder roll for another unedited conversation between Overtrek, Easy Target, and Rollin Napoleon. As the crew gets things back on track, the trio is back together for a discussion on how we must learn to lose our life in God if we are to truly discover what our lives are about. Particularly in terms of our purpose, vocation, and our unique niche we bring to the table.

Thoreau wrote, "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. What is called resignation is confirmed desperation. From the desperate city you go into the desperate country and have to console yourself with the bravery of minks and muskrats. A stereotyped but unconscious despair is concealed even under what are called the games and amusements of mankind. There is no play in them, for this comes after work. But it is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things.”

A few highlights:

Purpose is where we find our identity, it is given by God. Vocation is where we serve our community, it is living in God through our work. Niche is how I do my best ministry, when I bring my unique gifting from God into my work.

Purpose is who you are. Vocation is what you do. Niche is how who you are does what you do.

Anger is a prevalent emotion in our day and one which is often misunderstood, misused, and maligned. Actually, there are times when it is right to be angry but there are also right ways to be angry. As our best model we want to look at the occasions in the scriptures when Jesus was angered. What was the cause and how did he respond?

The public schools established in the colonial era were predominately faith based and Bible centric, but clearly, we are not living in the 1700's anymore. Today, Christian parents have options to consider when it comes to the education of their children. One of those options is the Christian School, but with that comes many questions and some concerns. In this episode a number of those questions and concerns are addressed. What are the reasons for or against Christian education, public school education, or even the homeschooling option?

Our Special Guests include Pastor Gary Blaylock and J.D. Paige.

For the second episode in a row, we have the whole crew together! This week the discussion centers around why men have a difficult time forming true friendships with other men and why it is vital that we change that. Of course, we begin with a round table discussion on "Who is the best Robin Hood of all time?" So, bear with us!

Destined to become an all-time classic or the end of the C.O.D.E. Podcast forever, the entire crew is finally back together, and we were so elated we left this episode raw and unfiltered. Napoleon and Easy Target are back in the studio of the Undisclosed Location and while we had an agenda for this episode, we just sort of let the conversation flow naturally and, well, this is what you get.
