The Codeswitchin Podcast

In which actor and budding stand up comic Georgie De Lahoz hits us over the head (and ass) about ass eating (1:00), Sergio declares respectability politics to be dead (3:21), we discuss being white and Latino and and dealing with privilege (and conspiracy theories) both ways (5:15), Georgie pontificates about how Latinos must succeed (even if you're from Jersey) (9:40), Georgie rants about how ladies should date motivated guys (and how to become a motivated guy) (11:50), we decry games Dominican guys play (15:05), give relationship advice (18:00), drunkenly rant about dream chasing and setting goals (20:30), spit game about Columbus and the history of the Dominican Republic and the love-hate relationship with being from Washington Heights (23:58), go back to setting goals as a person of color, and as an organization (culture matters) (29:10), Georgie sets up the best metaphor for the 2016 Election yet (45:00), and we close with an homage to yoga pants (49:20)

The next THREE episodes are all about sex and relationships so brace yourself.

So back in November Codeswitchin' marooned Sergio as a correspondent in the Porn Dimension, aka Exxxotica, the East Coast's annual porn and sex and BDSM convention. He made it back alive with a few interviews and here we begin listening to them with Amanda Ocasio (from Ep 4: Enter A Boss Ass Bitch) and Janet, an escort and member of the New Jersey Red Umbrella Alliance, which fights for the rights of sex workers. She was so candid about her experiences working the street that we had to split this episode in two pieces.

We open with penis size (00:40), legalizing vesus de-criminalizing prostitution (02:35), hypocrisy about sex workers and whether escorts go to church (they do) (07:50), whether escorting is only about sex (it's not) (14:10), what led Janet into escorting (15:30), what prostitutes think of porn stars and the Whorearchy (starting at 17:30 but all over these episodes), sex worker activism and safety (19:38), we tackle the myth of George Soros money (23:36), start our Exxxotica coverage at (28:00) introducing Jinx Noccon Wood, the dominatrix and guest co-host, we interview Alexis Fawx at (30:08), we explore the hotly debated mechanics of double penetration (31:05), touch on our Latinx / Latino / Latina roots and how we can complain about Thanksgiving and still enjoy it (32:55), Alexis Fawx slams us with a meditation on the meaning of life and death (37:52), we take a question from our live feed (The Codeswitchin Podcast on Facebook) about Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDS) (51:09), business manager Sydney Coca and one of his two girlfriends Rebel Lynn talk about polyamory and triads (41:46), and the wonderful partners known as unicorns (43:56), swingers clubs and the swinger club experience (46:09 until the end.) Part 2 of this episode will come out Sunday Dec 11th.

Episode 23: How to Survive the Trump Era: Rules of Resistance - The Codeswitchin Podcast Ep. 23

We told you The Codeswitchin Podcast was preparing a safe space for problematic people in anticipation of the Trump Presidency, and here we are! In this episode we go over Sergio's Rules of Resistance and Survival For The Trump Era after our initial reactions to the Election Night from Hell, as well as our open call to all you listeners: In light of the increase in intimidation, hate speech and hate crimes in this country we want you to tell us who is messing with you. Reach out to us using our social media below.

The Rules are as follows: 1.) Create Alternative Institutions and Defend Them to the Death (15:10), 2.) Make Contacts Inside the Police (26:00), 3.) Get to Know Your Neighbors (28:10), 4.) Do Disruptions, Not Protests (29:20), 5.) Cover Your Tracks (39:04), 6.) Don't Turn On Each Other (41:02), 7.) Exercise Your Second Amendment Rights (45:50), and 8.) Unity Means Small Effective Groups Not Huge Disorderly Groups (49:37)

We're joined in this episode by Justy Alicea, the paleontologist, artist and nuyorican from Episodes 18 and 19.

Episode 22: Christ Didn't Die For Bug Eyed Dickless Men From Outer Space

Our reaction episode to the season premiere of The Walking Dead was meant to be ready a week ago, but Rada had to go to take care of an actual dead body that night. Story within! (04:10). We also shit on Dr. Strange for whitewashing, Van Helsing for bad CGI, Underworld and Mystery Men for good production design but bad stories, and Men in Black (starting at 17:10) Which segues us into Unsolved Mysteries, Sightings and Ancient Aliens (21:00) and Rada's beliefs about aliens and demons (22:05) and dinosaurs and cryptids (27:00), as well as Sergio's thoughts about magical realism and Latin culture (22:40). We touch on Incan, MezoAmerican, Caribbean and Black/Latino history (28:45) and sucking dick on the job (figuratively, not literally, well maybe) (35:05), which segues us toward a discussion on prison sex, Rikers, DiBlasio, racism, Hulk Hogan and the Bundy Militia acquittal, the system being rigged for Hillary Clinton, the Aaron Black/Breitbart non-controversy, and how Gary Johnson really isn't that good for America (hint: it has nothing to do with Aleppo) (starts at 37:35).

Feeling like life has fucked you over? There's some deep shit in this episode for you. If you're not energized by this episode, you're dead. We manage to get super activist Carlene Pinto to sit down with us despite her busy schedule fighting for immigrant rights and racial justice. Fresh off a victory for one of her people, she comes to us with undocumented student activist Flor Reyes, one of the DREAMERS (she shares her incredible story at 30:00). We share stories about struggling to pass the DREAM act (6:00), being disenfranchised due to possible voter fraud in the Bernie/Hillary primary (9:40), the fear of taking action and of people taking action (17:40), helping recently released prisoners get jobs (46:00), and the desperate measures people take to survive poverty (i.e. HIV bug chasers) (21:50). We also discuss where apathy and distrust of the government and political participation comes from (42.14) and mass incarceration (45:05). Finally we end by answering the question of how the average person can get involved in changing the world. (53:40)
