Welcome to the CodeX Cantina where our mission is to get more people talking about books! Was there a theme or meaning you wanted us to talk about further? Let us know in the comments below! Today we talk about "Lalla's Interests" by Vera Inber. Is it just a simple story of mischievous children or is there an allegory with early Soviet Worker Councils? Let's talk about it today! Our copy was translated by Joanne Turnbull.

Welcome to the CodeX Cantina where our mission is to get more people talking about books! Was there a theme or meaning you wanted us to talk about further? Let us know in the comments below! I read "An Apprenticeship, or the Book of Pleasures" by Clarice Lispector. One of Brazil's leading authors. It's haunting, deep, and personal. A great book that doesn't follow the path of a traditional romance and instead inspects one side in a personal reasoning for finding her humanity.

A book that wrestles with the questions of societal expectations, normalcy, and oddities: Convenience Store Woman is an entertaining and comedic ride if not a bit dark at times.
