The 2025 MLB Draft Lottery concluded the evening of Tuesday, December 10th. Now, the 2025 MLB Draft order is set. Although the draft is still seven months away SGPN is stepping up to the plate to deliver a 2025 MLB Mock Draft. My name is Noah Bieniek, and I host The College Baseball Experience and follow amateur baseball all year. This was a super fun exercise for me to gauge the talent for next Spring.

Once again the MLB Draft Lottery determined the top 6 picks for this year's MLB Draft. Washington Nationals were awarded the No. 1 overall selection for this Summer. In saying that, Seattle was the biggest Lottery winner. The Mariners had a 1.5% chance of landing a top 3 pick and shot up from No. 17 to No. 3 overall! St. Louis was also a huge beneficiary from the Lottery results. The Cardinals rose from No. 16 to No. 5 overall!

However on the other side of the coin both Miami and Colorado had a 22.5% chance of landing the No. 1 pick. Instead the Rockies slid to No. 4 and Marlins fell as far as they possibly could to Pick No. 7! This year has extra sting for Rocktober fans as this is now back-to-back seasons with the best odds to land No. 1 overall and dropping out of the pole position.

The High School 2025 MLB Draft class does not have a ton of top-tier talent in the first-round range. Established college pitchers are also expected to be a limited commodity in this year's first round. '25 will likely be another college-hitter-heavy first round, just like in 2024.

At the top of many big boards, you will see Texas A&M's five-tool talent, Jace LaViolette. Slightly behind him, you see a pair of college arms, LHP Jamie Arnold (Florida State) and RHP Tyler Bremner (UC Santa Barbara). Ethan Holliday, brother of Jackson, son of Matt, and nephew of Oklahoma State Baseball Coach Josh Holliday, will likely be a top 5 pick as well.

A cluster of college hitters, featuring Brendan Summerhill from Arizona, Cam Cannarella from Clemson and Aiva Arquette from Oregon State backfills the 2025 draft class' 99th percentile of talent.

Often, MLB organizations do not draft the best player available. Instead, they draft players that fit their organizational strengths. They do this because they typically develop those players best.

I don't have any industry/team sources. Plus trying to drill every pick correctly on the day of the draft is hard enough. In this exercise all of the picks in my way too early 2025 MLB Mock Draft are based on each organization's past draft history.

He shares some stories from Hoover with Ben Upton from the 11Point7 College Baseball Podcast. Does DeLongchamps like the new SEC Baseball Tournament format? What series from the new SEC Baseball schedule is he looking forward to most?

What does DeLongchamps think about the difference between low level minor league and power conference college baseball? Bieniek also allows DeLongchamps to talk about his Derek Bender pitch tipping tweet.

Then the duo talks about their initial thoughts about the House vs NCAA Settlement Case. When will college baseball increase to 34 scholarships? Lastly, Bieniek gets DeLongchamps' thoughts on Oregon State trapped in PAC 12 expansion.

The NFL, NBA, and NHL drafts have come and gone. Next on the clock is the 2024 MLB Draft. It's time for SGPN to step up to the plate and deliver an MLB Mock Draft piece. My name is Noah Bieniek, and I host The College Baseball Experience and follow amateur baseball all year long. As a former college player myself and being raised by a baseball coach I am a geek about baseball mechanics and statistics. I used those skills to label all 39 first-round picks with an MLB player comparison.

This year's Major League Baseball draft takes place once again during the Mid-Summer Classic festivities. Day 1 of the Draft will be on Sunday, 7/14, in Arlington, TX, prior to Monday's Home Run Derby and Tuesday's All-Star Game.

At the top of many big boards, you will see college baseball's Home Run king, Charlie Condon. Slightly behind him, you see a cluster of college bats like Travis Bazzana, JJ Wetherholt, Nick Kurtz, and Braden Montgomery. Two-way talent Jac Caglianone is also a no doubt Top 10 player this year. Will Cags attempt to do both like Shohei Ohtani, or will he devote himself to hitting?

Elite college pitchers Hagen Smith and Chase Burns are future Aces in the majors. Lastly, the top two prep stars, Konnor Griffin and Bryce Rainer, look to creep into this year's top 10 as well.

In past years, the best MLB Mock Draft has only predicted 4 (FOUR!) correct landing spots. I do not have any sources; I believe that when it comes to the MLB Draft, nobody knows anything. In my belief, 75% of information from "sources" in MLB organizations filtering out information is doing so falsely.

Instead, most of the picks in my MLB Mock Draft are based on past draft history. I believe most front offices draft based on their organizational strengths rather than their team's needs. So, with all that said, wish me luck.

Sunday morning around 9 AM Central time word got out that Texas A&M had made up their mind. Athletic Director Trev Alberts and company decided to hire Michael Earley. He will be a first year head coach in 2025. Earley has a good track record now coming from the Jim Schlossnagle coaching tree with some College World Series appearances and SEC experience. Was it a good hire for the long term? Did Texas A&M even interview realistic candidates to be hired as their baseball coach?

Earley is young with a ton of energy. That has resonated with the players and they were all clamoring for Earley to get the job. With the announcement players are planning to remove their names from the portal, which is a big win for Aggieland. Jace LaViolette, Gavin Grahovac, Ali Camarillo, many incoming Freshman, and incoming transfers are all expected to play in College Station next year.

Schlossnagle is 53 years old and has 8 College World Series appearances to his name and 5 of them were with the Horned Frogs. Chris Del Conte and Schlossnagle have remained close friends since their time in Fort Worth together. How much of a factor did that play in Schloss moving from College Station to Austin?

Obviously this is a terrible look, optics-wise, for Jim Schlossnagle. But it's not the first time he has left a Lone Star state program for another. Schloss has played the villain role before, he'll be prepared to do it again. Does Bieniek feel empathetic towards Aggie fans?

How much of the Texas A&M coaching staff will Jim Schlossnagle take with him to join the Texas Baseball coaching staff? Does CDC's relationships help him trying to work out a deal with either of the top candidates? Would the Longhorns be able to snipe one of the two 2024 National Championship coaches? How interested is Jim Schlossnagle in leaving Texas A&M? After winning a Natty is Tony Vitello less likely or more likely to leave Tennessee?

Erik Bakich would be a super solid hire for CDC and shouldn’t be too hard to pull off. Bakich does love his relationships and coaching at Clemson right now, but everybody has a number. Another former Maryland Head Coach that is in the running is Rob Vaughn. He probably isn’t high on Texas’ list but this would not be a consolation prize, this would be a strong and relatively reasonable hire for Chris Del Conte.
