The reason just might stun you...  No, I KNOW the reason will STUN you!

Not kidding!  I know it will STUN you when you learn WHY preachers repeat themselves over and over...

A Plea for Holy Living

1 Peter 1:13-16 (CJB)

1Pe 1:13 (CJB)  Therefore, get your minds ready for work, keep yourselves under control, and fix your hopes fully on the gift you will receive when Yeshua the Messiah is revealed.

1Pe 1:14 (CJB)  As people who obey God, do not let yourselves be shaped by the evil desires you used to have when you were still ignorant.

1Pe 1:15 (CJB)  On the contrary, following the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in your entire way of life;

1Pe 1:16 (CJB)  since the Tanakh says,  “You are to be holy because I am holy.”

You will notice that this section starts with the word therefore in the CJB or in the KJV you will see, Wherefore.

This word points us back to our salvation that Peter has just talked about in the previous verses. Because Christians have such that great salvation

I just preached about last week, The Living Hope,  we are to be a holy people. Salvation means a change in lifestyle.

When the soul is regenerated and the Holy Spirit moves in, Life is no longer business as usual.

We go LIVE Sunday at 5:30pm EDT

Join us LIVE at 5pm for a nice supper if you are in the DE, NJ, PA, MD area!

Internationally regarded Author and Historian, William J. Federer will be our guest talking about his new amazing book, Who is the King in America? And Who Are The Counselors to the King?

So, WHO IS THE KING IN AMERICA?

Before you answer, do you know what the most common form of government in world history? From the invention of writing around 3,300 BC, the world has mostly been ruled by kings.

Though called by different names: Pharaohs, Chieftains, Emperors, Caesars, Sultans, Khans, Maharajas, Monarchs, and Dictators, they act the same.

Power, like gravity, concentrates into the hand of one person, who rewards his friends and punishes his enemies.

In Socialist and Communist countries, too, though professing equality, they inevitably end up being run by dictators.

The King of England was the most powerful king the planet had seen. When Americans got the chance, they set up a government as far from a king as possible.

They flipped it and put the people in charge.

A -republic- is where the people are king, ruling through their representatives.  (Listen for MORE!)

The Bible often refers to the salvation experience as a hope. For instance, Sha'ul (Paul) was speaking of believers who had died, when he said we sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. (1 Thessalonians 4:13)

Concerning the Christian, herein ever after referred to accurately as Hamashiachian the Bible speaks of, the hope of His calling. (Ephesians 1:18) Of every child of God the Bible says, Hamashiach in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27)

Here in 1 Kefa our text states that God according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope. (1 Kefa 1:3)

The salvation experience is referred to as hope.

Now there is a big difference between the way we generally use the word hope and the way the bible uses it.

When we use the word hope, it is in the sense of wishing for something.

However, when the Bible uses that word hope, it is talking about a confident expectation and reality.

The reason that Bible hope is a confident expectation and reality is because Bible hope is based in God.  How in the world does this thing work?  "Bible hope."

The answer is....  It doesn't.  Tune in to find out why...

FAULT LINE...

More Americans than ever are counting themselves among the “nones”—the cohort of Americans who are not necessarily atheistic, but who do not claim allegiance to a particular religious system. The key question is: why? Consider that the nation’s three main educational systems—the mainstream media, entertainment, and the university system—lean to the political left and typically paint an inaccurate picture of what Christianity truly is.

With this in mind, Billy Hallowell skillfully explores how society’s main educational avenues fail to deliver fair-minded content and how their biases are reinforcing negative values and fueling the rise of the “nones.” Hallowell also offers practical steps for all Christians to take and provides advice on how to respond to these growing problems.
