  • Jihad: The Exception or the Rule with Robert Spencer

Ilana Rachel Daniel sat with Robert Spencer for a fascinating discussion on Jihad in Islam. Here we covered aspects of Muslim theology well outside the radar of the Western mindset that are rarely, if ever, discussed. You will find this conversation as compelling as did we.

We are living in a world where Islamic Terrorism threatens nine million people and the entirety of the state of Israel - but hardly us alone. It threatens the 90 million Iranians who roar out of their chokehold with the death of the Butcher of Iran, former President Ebrahim Raisi this week. And it threatens the free world in its entirety and the civilization on which it was built.

That means you and me both.

The religious ideology that defines the Islamic Republic of Iran for example, along with their proxies in Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and their many various branches is foreign to us on an elemental level. In increasing frequency, we witness acts of savagery that we do not wish upon our worst enemy - acts that go against not only our myriad of cultures but go against the humanity which we believed to be shared by us all.

Robert Spencer is the director of Jihad Watch and a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center. He is the author of twenty-eight books, including the New York Times bestsellers "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)" and "The Truth About Muhammad" and the bestsellers "The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS" and "The Critical Qur’an: Explained from Key Islamic Commentaries and Contemporary Historical Research". His forthcoming book is "Muhammad: A Critical Biography".

Spencer has led seminars on Islam and jihad for the FBI, the United States Central Command, United States Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army’s Asymmetric Warfare Group, the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), the Justice Department’s Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council and the U.S. intelligence community. He has discussed jihad, Islam, and terrorism at a workshop sponsored by the U.S. State Department and the German Foreign Ministry. He is a senior fellow with the Center for Security Policy.

  • Special Edition: The Numbers Game

The United Nations just issued a striking reduction in their estimate of the number of women and children killed in Gaza.

    Why? And by what measure?

Listen to Dr David Adesnik, Senior Analyst for the FDD shed light on Hamas’s numbers game and how they go about inflating the fatality figures to progress the agenda of civilians as tools of warfare.

  • The Psychology of War with Maj. Andrew Fox (Ret.)

“Never again is now, we don’t stand for Jews being killed freely anymore, that stays in the 1940s where it belongs.”

Andrew Fox served as an officer in the British Army from 2005-2021, leaving with the rank of Major. He completed 3 tours of Afghanistan, including one attached to US Army Special Forces. He also served in Bosnia, Northern Ireland and the Middle East. He studied Law as an undergraduate, and completed a Master’s in History & War Studies whilst serving. He now studies Psychology of disinformation at Master’s level and is halfway through a PhD on the US Reconstruction. He has been a lecturer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and is a researcher and commentator on the Middle East.

We, the people of Israel, and not our government of whom so much has been said, we are the buffer between civilization and the enemies of freedom who seek at every moment to tear down the pillars of the west.

Israelis know this because we live it.

We are raw and stinging from the fight, from pushing back against this tidal wave of murderous hate.

Andrew is uniquely positioned to comment on much of what Israelis are experiencing right at this moment having studied the politics of the Middle East, the psychology of humankind, and lived the experience of fighting for it. He understands the context intimately and more to the point - which questions to ask.

    Don’t miss this discussion.

  • On the Way to Rafah with David Adesnik of the FDD

In today’s episode, Ilana Rachel Daniel welcomes Dr. David Adesnik, Senior Fellow and Director of Research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies who’s own research focuses on Syria and Iran, in particular their illicit oil trade and Iran’s use of proxy forces to project influence across the region.

We dive into Adesnik’s expertise on terrorism, warfare, and military threats across the Middle East, including the long discussed operation into Rafah - the last of Hamas’s stronghold in Gaza - and what it means for hostage negotiations, Israel's relationship with the US, and the looming threat of war with Hezbollah on Israel's northern border.

  • Chaos on Campus with Eyal Yakoby

The chaos sweeping across US campuses has captured the attention of Americans and those worldwide no less.

We watch as events unfold, we hear what is chanted on repeat, and see the unironic conviction of student protesters assured of their righteousness even as identifiably Jewish kids are physically blocked and bullied as they navigate a campus turned into a threatening neighborhood.

In Israel where half of the world's 15 million Jews live, we face daily the potential for life threatening terrorism and war.

The vast majority of Diaspora Jews live in the US and have thrived in its bastion of freedom, we gave the best of our brilliance and innovation and together we have grown.

“Palestine” as the story goes, is both a place and a genocide unlike any other before or since. Primarily because it consists of each individual’s varied and most aspirational fantasies and thus cannot be contradicted enmeshed as is it, in storytelling, ignorance, and an emptiness all in one.

We, America and the West, are at a turning point. The pillars of civilization are crumbling from within. Who will take the reins? Those who champion freedom and the vigilance to maintain it or those who would thrust us into totalitarian and absolute rule for the foreseeable future to come?

Ilana Rachel Daniel speaks with Eyal Yakoby, a student at UPENN, one of the hotbeds of turmoil, to learn more.

  • Iranians vs the Islamic Regime with Golsa Golestaneh

In this episode Ilana Rachel Daniel welcomes Golsa Golestaneh.Golsa is an Iranian-Canadian passionate about challenging misinformation and propaganda. We dive into what life was like for her family who opposed the Islamic Regime, her own arrest by the morality police at age 14, and while living in Canada today, how she was accused of Islamophobia for calling out Radical Islam. Golsa speaks on why she believes Israel is the only country who recognizes the immediate and existential threat the Islamic Republic of Iran poses to the Iranian people, to the Israeli people, and to all of civilization.“While women are beaten in the streets of Iran and middle and upper class kids who have never met with a moments adversity rage against a machine they cannot point to on a map, never has the noise been more deafening or appalling or absurd.”https://x.com/exhaustedgolsa

  • Iran Attacks

On April 14th 2024, Iran did what no one thought they would; launch an unprecedented attack upon sovereign Israel’s soil.

“As for Israel, it has quite literally no choice but to respond to the Iranian regime's attack. And of the unending “impossible choices'' we, the people of Israel face and have enumerated here week after week - this would be the mother of them all.

Their purpose is to terrorize us, to make our lives so terrifying and unlivable that we abandon our ancestral land, the place of our hope and our refuge. But they believe their own lies and misjudge who we are to their own downfall.

Israel has no choice - we are a nation of refugees and we have nowhere else to go - we will fight with all we have for we do not defend a philosophical idea in a faraway country - we defend our precious children, homes and land and we have no illusions about for what we fight and why we must.”

  • Iran's War on the West with David May of the FDD

The Islamic Republic of Iran has defined itself by waging a relentless and cynical war of terror against the United States, Israel and democracy as a whole for 45 years. In doing so, the IRGC attempts to legitimize its rule over an Iranian population who by far and large do not support the Islamic Theocracy.

In this episode Ilana Rachel Daniel and our guest, David May, senior analyst at The Foundation for Defense of Democracies, shine a light one of the most repressive regimes in the world, its failures, and its un-holy quest for regional dominance.

"We have since passed the 48 hour high alert period issued over the weekend where the CIA warned Israel of Iran’s potentially imminent attack.

Again what makes these warnings especially newsworthy is that Iran would itself attack from its own soil and not utilize one of its mercenary proxies sitting in at least five countries officially across the Middle East and many other locations in progress which Iran has been sending to terrorize our small country."

  • Pallywood & Lethal Journalism with Professor Richard Landes

Professor Richard Landes book, “Can the Whole World be Wrong?” documents the inability of Westerners to understand the medieval mentality that drives Global Jihad. That misunderstanding has prompted a series of disastrous misinterpretations and misguided reactions that have contributed fundamentally to the ever-worsening moral and empirical disorientations of the mainstream media.

The press reports Palestinian and Jihadi war propaganda as if official news which fuels distrust and deepens splits within their own western countries  - weakening the ability of democracies to defend themselves.

The book cites the example of former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan, who rejected Israel’s denial that it committed a massacre at Jenin in 2002; “I don't think the whole world, including the friends of the Israeli people and government, can be wrong,” said Annan.

Landes answer, however, is a resounding; “Yes.”

About The Common Denominator

From the publisher's feed

The Common Denominator seeks to fill in the gaps of theory and reality to demystify the realities of the Jews and the Jewish state, but not only. We face today the broader threats of terrorism on the rise worldwide, the deterioration of western civilization, leaderships who continuously seek to centralize their power and the reality of the human fallibilities that aid them.
