The Middle East and North Africa - MENA - is defined as the most autocratic region in the world. Yet Israel, has acted as an oasis of democracy in a desert of repression all while struggling to maintain its security and internal progress.
In this program, Ilana Rachel Daniel returns to the pillars of our western democracies, what were the shared values that rooted them and why we see their erosion and rise of authoritarianism today.
…
“Our throw away culture imagines there is always something better on the pipeline. We buy the next upgrade, we block those with whom we disagree and we toss our single serving receptacle to the bin many times a day.
But, if we abandon the constructs of democracy now in this era of micro-managed minds and a device in each of our 8 billion hands, there is no better model in production.”
There is no country nor army more vilified than is Israel’s.
Our experience has been one of inversion, where that which happens to Israel’s people collectively is robbed from them in broad daylight and claimed by her enemies as their own.
But there are facts. There is evidence and documentation, policy and witness, and they stand in stark contrast to the propaganda manufactured.
Here is one solider’s account.
“Urban warfare, however, both in general and in the layout of battle inside Gaza specifically, present difficulties and multi-layered dangers that are entirely new, not only to those listening, but for the IDF who meets inside Gaza challenges which no army has faced before, ever.”
Here we report with firsthand account a harrowing incident of terror into our Negev village that headlined the news the next morning, on the precarious steps we take throughout this land under shadow of war and a threat greater now than ever before.
“What the world wakes to but has not yet defined - is the purpose which Israel serves - in its original concept if not its imperfect realization. It is buffer between the civilized world and a barbaric totalitarianism that would devour it whole. It is this civilization and its shocking fragility which we come to defend.”
In last week’s episode we heard the first part of the historical model which brings a balanced - and therefore entirely new - framework to the past one hundred years of Jews in the land of Israel.
To recap part one of our discussion - Professor Francisco Gil-White illustrates for us the documented dynamics on the ground in British Mandate Palestine, one where the voluntary and enthusiastic sale of land to the Jews of the early Yishuv resulted in the increased quality of life for the local Arabs and Jews already living there - so much so that Arab immigration into the land of Israel increased dramatically for those throughout the region seeking better quality and conditions of life.
We learned that the Arab elite was far from on board with the creation of an Arab middle class and how that elite worked together with the British to aid and abet terror so savage and overwhelming that it would - and did - threaten the existence of the future fledgling state before it was even realized in its modern formation.
We met arch villain Hajj Amin al Husseini, the grand Mufti of Jerusalem whose life and legacy is critical to understanding the continuous conflict from which Israel and the Arab world still cannot escape.
Husseini’s strategizing of Arab terror was collated into the PLO we know (and imagine as moderate) today and whose mission has not changed since its inception. Husseini meets with Hitler and the heads of the Nazi movement and becomes their official beneficiary.
In the second part of today’s discussion, we turn to the second half of that century to understand the origins of the much misused title “Palestine”, the telling changes made to the PLO’s charter between 1964 & 1968, Husseini’s PLO progeny in Yasser Arafat and the story’s connection to Eugenics.
These are the rotten fruits of a century of terrorism.

In what is our most important interview in four years; Professor Francisco Gil-White delivers an entire framework with which to view one hundred years in the land of Israel - the one never heard before - the Jewish perspective of events. We have met Jews at their moments of crisis - as victims of abuse and slaughter - but we have never heard the entirety of our position in history.
Professor Gil-White offers here a tremendous gift and opportunity, a model where piece by piece the lopsided dialogue is righted. You will recognize it with relief when round peg finally joins with round hole.
Please take the time to listen and engage with this material and to share it as widely as you might.
In two parts.
Description:
In part one we will take a closer look at the roots of the Palestinian Authority, the relationship between the Arabs and Jews in British Mandate Palestine, the first massacres of the Jews in Israel and how the grand Mufti, Hajj Amin al Husseini, worked directly with Hitler to expand and export that terrorism - and its inevitable connection to eugenics.
A model that will reframe all you thought you knew of Israel.

The rancor on display against Israel is not criticism of its response to the atrocities of October 7th.
What we are witnessing is a complete delegitimization and dehumanization of Israel’s state and people. Accusations that Israel is an imperialist, colonialist, genocidal country did not begin October 8th. These are deliberate and targeted attacks which were developed decades ago to mask antisemitism in the cloak of criticism of Zionism.
We sit with scholar of AntiZionism and Contemporary Left AntiSemitism and contributing writer to Tablet Magazine, Izabella Tabarovsky.
In this episode we are discussing the Israeli dilemma of “If?” and “How” to negotiate the release of its citizens who have been kidnapped. We will see that not only is this a current, open and gaping wound, but one with a myriad of historical precedence in Israel.
On one hand, negotiating hostages in exchange for murderers does not satiate but wholly encourages this nation’s many enemies to continue to terrorize.
And on the other; Does it imbue these citizens with a deeply rooted morale to continue under the extraordinary and constant threat to our well being - knowing our country will do everything in its power to bring back our sons and daughters - even if it means placing Israel at a military disadvantage?
Perhaps the most difficult discussion we’ve had to date.

In this episode we approach the scale of injustice that is the pseudo UN organization, UNRWA. Understanding the role of UNRWA is to understand it’s reason for being; perpetuating the Israel-Palestinian Conflict.
It is not only part of the story, but at the root of it.
“Living entirely on charity for generations is one way to utterly cripple a people - creating a tragic cycle of misery, infantilizing generations as unable to do more but kill and be killed. A people sustained but just enough handouts to stay alive but never flourish.”

This is the first episode of our new weekly podcast.
The Common Denominator seeks to fill in the gaps of theory and reality; to demystify not only the lived reality of the Jews and the Jewish state, but also the broader threat all we face worldwide with leaderships who continuously seek to centralize their power - and the reality of the human fallibilities that aid them. There is nothing else like it around and we want you involved.
Today’s program will address the Tik Tok curriculum roaming the internet which cite a decades old project as the “reason” behind the raging war in Israel and Gaza.
Come find out the facts. We'll meet you there.
Shows will air each Wednesday at 18:00 Jerusalem time, 11:00 ET on Substack, Apple, Spotify, Rumble and YouTube

The ceasefire has ended.
Meanwhile the NYTimes confirms what has been in Israeli news from multiple testimonies of female watch soldiers for months:
“Israeli officials had Hamas’s battle plan for the Oct. 7 terrorist attack more than a year before it happened, as documents, emails and interviews have shown.
“Israeli military and intelligence officials dismissed the plan as “aspirational”, considering it too difficult for Hamas to carry out.
“The 40-page document, was code-named “Jericho Wall" by authorities and it outlined in detail - point by point, the manner of invasion carried out that led to the lengthy torture and savage massacre of more than 1200 people.“The translated document did not specify the date for attack, but described a methodical assault designed to overwhelm the fortifications around the Gaza Strip, take over Israeli cities and storm key military bases, including a division headquarters.“Hamas followed the blueprint with shocking precision. The document called for a barrage of rockets at the outset of the attack, drones to knock out the security cameras and automated machine guns along the border, and gunmen to pour into Israel en masse in paragliders, on motorcycles and on foot — all of which happened on Oct. 7.”…
May it be exceedingly clear to people across the world that this war is a war for survival. Survival of the state of Israel and survival of the Jewish people worldwide.
You can choose sides, but let there be no pretense what you choose when you do.
This war is confusing to people because it is being led by several wicked leaderships who should long since be rotting in jails, and so you feel unsure whom to defend.
Let me clarify for you and I hope you will hear.
This war is one of good versus evil. It is the one we have been fighting all along.
It matters not whether you love or you hate the Jews, for the evil which burnt down our homes, mass raped and tortured families, is the one gathering strength in your overseas streets at this moment.
What we fight is one and the same.
It is a darkness of a brutal prisoner existence versus the fragile freedoms of self-determination which we have all taken so regrettably for granted.
The threat is the same and it looms over us all.Prepare yourselves: Jewish communities everywhere, and all who value your freedoms. Know it is your responsibility to defend them. No one else is coming.
This is the decisive moment.
The change we long for is alive in potential still, but only if we accept our role to personally see it forward now.*May G-d bless us with strength and with courage, with clarity and precision to live bravely and in His light.*- Ilana Rachel Daniel
