(00:00-:09:50): It is the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, one of the most prolific days of combat in modern American warfare. It is important to reflect and recognize the amazing efforts by the men and women of that day and to honor their bravery. Brian and Ian also reflect on President Reagan’s speech at Normandy in 1984.
(09:50-19:25): Pastors are the leaders God ordained to tend each Church body. Brian and Ian talk about the importance of applying the bible microscopically (hermeneutics) and reflect your life based on the Bible’s mandate.
(19:25-29:06): Less self care, more community care. Brian and Ian touch on the difference between the two different outlooks. The Bible portrays the importance of community in the Church body. Shouting “Self-care” at those who need community care is how we fail as a culture.
(29:06-38:55): Executive Producer Keith Conrad joins the show to have a little pre-kicker fun. Quick question: Is it a “Psalm, or a Crazy Justin Bieber Fan?”
(38:55-49:42): Megachurches discovering liturgy and traditional Christianity? Churches of over 2000 in their congregation are seeing shift from the typical notion that “megachurches” make it difficult to find community. They are however, embracing catholic traditions as a part of their statements.
(49:42-1:00:23): Beth Moore has been in the news about many things, but she recently tweeted: “The objective of all obedience to God is Christlikeness. God is conforming us into the image of His Son. If in our pursuit and practice of obedience, we look, act, talk and love less and less and less like Jesus, something has gone awry.” Brian and Ian discuss the dangers of conforming NOT according to Jesus.
(1:00:23-1:10:48): Don’t miss those parenting moments. Brian and Ian reflect, as fathers, on how important quality time with your family and your kids is. They express the joys they have when just experiencing small, seemingly insignificant, moments.
(1:10:23-1:16:52): There’s a reason why Chicago frowns upon ketchup and animal cruelty. A superstitious man in Florida needs some help, at Wal-Mart. Don’t let that distract you from a false-alarm avocado, and alcoholic boat captains.
