(0:00-9:52) New reports allege that the man who shot up Poway Synagogue wrote a manifesto that used a lot of language consistent with Christian teaching and values. This is raising a lot of tough questions for pastors and faith leaders. Brian and Ian dig into the shooter's background and what it can mean when someone comes from a faith-based background, then goes down a dark path that leads to dark choices. 

(9:52-19:18) The topic of forgiveness is one that is both complex and heavy. Sarah Montana gave a TedTalk on the subject and her story of forgiving the man who murdered her mother and brother. Ian and Brian walk though her talk and what it truly means to forgive someone. They examine Biblical forgiveness and Jesus's thoughts on forgiveness as well. 

(19:18-31:01) Pamela and Anne Kennedy are a mother/daughter duo who have written a wonderful series of kids books. The first 3 in the series come out next Tuesday and are geared to help instill confidence, honesty etc. in youth. With Brian and Ian they cover what parents want to teach their kids values wise and also raising kids in the faith and Jesus's teachings. 

(31:01-38:38) Many people have a book that has made a profound impact on their life. For some, it is books on Scripture and faith. For others the choices are off the beaten track. Whatever the choices, Brian and Ian are avid readers themselves and take time to go into book that have stuck with them over the years. 

(38:38-49:06) Masculinity is a topic that is constantly changing and very divisive. In the modern age, the term carries a lot weight, both good and bad. As men and parents, Brian and Ian offer up their thoughts on what constitutes masculinity in the 21st century and as followers of Christ. 

(49:06-59:43) True contentment is what everyone wants, but few often seem to achieve it. And there is also contentment that is masked as laziness or materialism. Brian and Ian examine the concept of being content and what it means to be truly content in the Lord.

(0:00-9:36) The first Thursday of May is the designated National Day of Prayer. Every year there is a theme, this year it's 'Love One Another'. Brian and Ian give their thoughts on prayer outside the Day itself, praying for one's government and also taking action in addition to prayer. 

(9:36-19:53) Alabama Rep. John Rogers recently stated that "some kids is unwanted, kill'em now or kill'em later". Hot on the heels of the recent legislation passed regarding abortion, this has caused an uproar. Brian and Ian push back on the statement as well as what should be the response of believers as more and more people shift their thinking to abortion. 

(19:53-29:27) Skye Jethani remarked that Christians who constantly seek out a spiritual high become worship junkies. They are always hopping from one mountaintop to the next. Ian and Brian look into the positives of having an emotional high, but also finding joy "in the valley" and the power of both in one's life. 

(29:27-39:21) Author Jon Acuff had a minor embarrassment with a turtle during a public speaking event. Yet he took it in stride. Human beings are prone to being embarrassed and shamed about things they say or do, even when its not needed. Brian and Ian share stories of their own experiences being embarrassed and how to own the moments and overcome them. 

(39:21-49:46) "God's church doesn't have a mission. God's mission has a church". Ian penned that Facebook post regarding the expansion of the church. he and Brian unpack what it means to open one's eyes to the work God is doing and becoming a part of that mission and doing his work, not ours. 

(49:46-1:00) Ron Sider has announced his formal retirement. And his impact, especially with "Rich Christians In An Age of Hunger" is profound. Taking a look at his writings and some quotes, Brian and Ian look into how so many have been blinded by a desire to succeed, while ignoring or overlooking Christ's call to help others. 

(1:00-1:10) Michael Chitwood, Executive Director for Church and Ministry at World Vision, works to spread the good news of Christ everywhere. World Vision's upcoming Global 6k for Water highlights the need in the world and helping "the least of these". He shares his story of working with World Vision with Brian and Ian and what the purpose and goal of the 6k is.

Many times people deal with sadness but don't open up about it or fully confront it. Brian and Ian break down some of the ways to open up, even it feels scary to do so.

(9:48-18:56) The #1 Christian single of all time will surprise people. Brian has some fun keeping Ian guessing before the reveal. Both of them offer up stories of other songs and bands who have impacted them. They discuss the power of Christian music and how it has left its mark on audiences. 

(18:56-28:10) There is no such thing as a soulmate? The obsession with finding someone to remain whole and be fulfilled can lead to negative, even toxic thinking. Brian and Ian look into how there are countless positives to finding someone, while never forgetting that believers are already completed by God and his love. 

(28:10-37:51) Scripture calls for people to care for the least of these. And that is what Central Church of the Nazarene is actively doing. By building homes for the homeless on their church campus, they are answering that call. Ian and Brian take a look at this church's work in being the hands and feet of Jesus and love on their neighbors. 

(37:51-49:41) The National Institute of Mental Health reported an increase in teenage suicide when '13 Reasons Why' premiered on Netflix. In spite of a lack of spikes when the subsequent seasons aired, it still shows the power of media on youth. Brian and Ian offer their opposing views on the statistics, pop cultures influence, and how Christians take a simplistic approach when responding to various forms of media. 

(49:41-1:00) The negative culture of having non-Christian vs. Christian friends can be contentious. Jesus actively chose to spend time with those who were called sinners in his time. Ian and Brian talk through this topic and working to go out and meet people while still being ambassador's for Christ. 

(1:00-1:11) Jesus never promised an easy life for believers, in spite of assumptions that it should be. For all the high's there are also the lows. And there is peace from living a life in pursuit of Jesus. Brian and Ian look into Scripture where Jesus speaks about following him and living life, to add more to the discussion of giving one's life wholly to the Lord.

Avengers: Endgame is breaking records everywhere in a short time. Dallas Jenkins comes on to discuss the film's success and what should Christians take away from the power of story and learning about reaching others with the messages of Jesus through the medium. Later, the conversation shifts to what it means to be a Christian storyteller, dealing with critics and not letting the opinoin's of others affect ones mission in creating media.
