Luke 24:44-49; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:16-20 - How do you know if a church is a "good" church or not? Before you can know how a church is doing you have to know what it's supposed to be doing in the first place. After Jesus' resurrection, He gave the church some basic instructions that still inform everything we do today. Jesus called all of His followers to be witnesses and missionaries.

Mark 16:1-8

The cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ are the most important pivotal events in the history of the universe. Everyone who hears and believes this news is forever changed. Among other things, the resurrection means that the cross "worked" and a new beginning has come.

Mark 15:15-47

Mark's main purpose in writing about the cross was not simply to convey what Jesus experienced, but what He accomplished. So what did the suffering Son of God accomplish at the cross? The answer to that question changes everything!

Mark 15:1-15 - The gospel, at its core, is an exchange. We can have what Jesus deserves because He took what we deserve. The story of Jesus and Barabbas is a picture of all of our stories: the king for a criminal.

Mark 12:28-34 - Someone once asked Jesus which commandment was the greatest. His answer provides us with a simple yet profound way to center our lives around what's most important.

Mark 12:13-17 - Jesus gives His followers a different political agenda: neither blind partisanship nor complacent withdrawal. Instead, He calls us to find our identity in Him, give ourselves over to Him completely, and be a redemptive presence in the world.

Mark 10:13-31 - The gospel of Jesus Christ costs you nothing and everything, all at the same time. Jesus gives us forgiveness and new life freely; but this gift will change everything about us. However, as you'll hear in the sermon, you never give more than you get with Jesus.

Mark 10:1-9 - No issue has commanded more attention over the last couple of years than issues dealing with sexuality and marriage. What does Jesus have to say about this, and how should His church live in the middle of a culture that doesn't share those views?

Mark 10:1-12 - Almost everyone has been affected by divorce in one way or another. Whether you've been divorced yourself, or watched as your parents or friends went through a divorce, it's always painful. In a world plagued by the hurt of divorce, we need Christ's perspective on marriage.
