The Complete Works Podcast

This week, Programming Director of The Roxy Theater Mike Emmons returns to the podcast to tell us about everything happening at The 2025 Montana Film Festival, which takes place from October 23rd through 26th at The Roxy Theater in Missoulal!

This week, fan-favorite character Cardinal Siqueros makes his triumphant return to the DRACULA series! Picking up five years after DRACULA II: ASCENSION, Roy Scheider is back for another one-scene performance in DRACULA III: LEGACY, this time featuring Rutger Hauer as Dracula! Plus, our favorite kung-fu vampire hunter priest Father Uffizi is the main character now!

It's Punisher Week on Mike and Mike Pod! Thanks to a listener donation to our Ko-Fi page (ko-fi.com/mikeandmikepods), we're following up our discussion of Roy Scheider in 2004's THE PUNISHER by talking about the pseudo-sequel PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, directed by Lexi Alexander and starring Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle.

This week, we're talking about arguably the last major film of Roy Scheider's career, in which he briefly appears as Frank Castle's father in 2004's THE PUNISHER! We talk Thomas Jane, compare the film to the 1989 version, and have a lot of thoughts about this period of pre-MCU comic book adaptations!

The Mikes are gearing up for Spooky Season with this month's Mike Makes Mike Watch - Mike D makes Smith catch up with THE. CHANGELING starring George C. Scott, while Smith makes Mike D watch Adam Wingard's breakout feature, YOU'RE NEXT!

This week, Roy Scheider appears as the titular Red Serpent in RED SERPENT, a Russian production also featuring Michael Paré! The Mikes debate whether this is one of the worst-looking movies they've ever covered, and get delighted by yet another late-period accent from Scheider.

We accidentally posted this one a little bit out of order, but here it is: Roy Scheider appears alongside Patrick Stewart in a TV movies that adapts KING LEAR and turns it into a western - it's time for KING OF TEXAS!

Did you know that Michelle Yeoh is now a part of one of the highest-grossing movies of all time? The international sensation NE ZHA 2 has made over $2 billion this year - and A24 just re-released it in theaters with a new English dub, featuring the voice talents of Michelle Yeoh! Mike and Mike are getting back into the Yeoh-iverse to parse through Chinese myth and marvel at the animation in this epic story.

This week, Roy Scheider pops up for one scene in the direct-to-video sequel to DRACULA 2000, it's DRACULA II: ASCENSION! It swaps out Gerard Butler for Stephen Billington, and is very much part one of a two-part story... but don't worry, Scheider's in DRACULA III too, so we'll be covering that one in a few weeks!

This week, Roy Scheider gets an unlikely co-star: Trash TV legend Jerry Springer! Scheider plays the governor of Florida in a world where high-profile court cases get turned into AMERICAN IDOL-style TV shows, where the viewers at home get to vote whether the defendant is innocent or guilty. Think THE RUNNING MAN meets NETWORK, but... not quite as good as either of those. It's time for CITIZEN VERDICT!
